Garblog: Race Report: 2011 Kaohsiung Romantic Love River Triathlon
http://garbjohnblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/race-report-2011-kaohsiung-romantic.html
Keep up with the Sampsons in Japan! Sunday, March 06, 2011. Race Report: 2011 Kaohsiung Romantic Love River Triathlon. The calm before the storm: race venue, T-16 hours. Look, I didn't name the race, OK? It's a silly translation from the Chinese - nothing about "romantic" in there, except that the river really is called the Love River. There, now that that's out of the way, let's talk about the race! Watch out for "logs". I've got to get a bit faster to catch up to where I was in 2008! One interesting as...

Keep up with the Sampsons in Japan! Saturday, November 08, 2014. Harvest-time in Okinawa and elsewhere. October is early enough for Christmas in Bangkok. We got a request! Thanks for submitting your interest. I may have to post early for November to respond with what there is to do in Okinawa at Christmastime. This post is actually the October post - re-cap, if you will. Another busy month. They all seem to be! Chomp, “exploring the studio space.”. Editor’s note: do we need more cowbell? I am getting my ...

Garblog: Long time no post
http://garbjohnblog.blogspot.com/2010/12/long-time-no-post.html
Keep up with the Sampsons in Japan! Monday, December 06, 2010. Long time no post. Well, I've been doing a lot of triathlon training, first of all. Then, we were out of town the weekend before last to Sun Moon Lake in central Taiwan. Right after we got back from that trip, I found out my grandma died and I went back to the U.S. for the funeral. Now I'm back in Taiwan and headed back to class tomorrow. More busy-ness! At the Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village (FACV) near Sun Moon Lake. John's new tattoo ...

Keep up with the Sampsons in Japan! Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Race Report: 2011 Ironman 70.3 Singapore. 2011 IM 70.3 Singapore finisher's medal. Wow, just wow. This race was a stark contrast from my last race two weeks ago. It was so well-organized! Plus, Singapore is fantastic. I would love to spend more time there. Alas, this trip is over. Let's hear more about the race and the trip. These were a welcome sight near the race start/finish. Old enough now to get some work out of him :). The transition ar...

TexasDevils, At Home and Abroad: Belated Bulgaria, Part II
http://texasdevils.blogspot.com/2013/06/belated-bulgaria-part-ii.html
Saturday, June 08, 2013. Belated Bulgaria, Part II. I took several pictures in Bulgaria that are really just images of daily life within the capital city. Pensioners playing (and observing) a spirited game of chess. A true spectator sport. I can't place where exactly we saw this statue, but it is creepy. It has a vaguely Soviet feel.Is this the Bulgarian version of the Lada? Rather puts me in mind of that toy from Toy Story:. And with that, I have finished blogging about Bulgaria! St Petersburg, Russia:.

Keep up with the Sampsons in Japan! Saturday, September 12, 2009. Skers back in action, Taiwan fan club UA*. The Big Red are fixin' to take to the field again in L-town against Arkansas State. I *heard* from a little birdie that last week BOTH of my brothers went to the win over Florida Atlantic - how do they rate? Hope it was fun, hope you both ate lots of Fairbury.
