The street frontage was built in 1780, with the lower right hand section added in the early 19th century (if you look closely at the picture, you can see that the architectural styles of the two builds are slightly different).

Nos 20 - 23, Charles Street, Grade II Listed. Nos 20 - 23 are timber framed buildings and date back to the 17th century. The brick facade was added in the late 19th century when the building was adapted to form four shops. Much of the original timber framing still survives behind the later facade.

Although it is only 4 miles from the English border, it is a major shopping centre for Wales - some customers come over 40 miles to our shop.
