Monday, September 28, 2009. Beans and rice day 28. I pretty much figured by day 28 we would most definitely be feeling like we were ready for this bean and rice challenge to be over. Eating beans and rice for dinner- enough said. But what I didn’t expect however was the feeling of guilt that would come along with that. Guilt that in just 2 days I wouldn’t have to eat another bean or bowl of rice for as long as I lived if I choose… and the guilt that I have that choice. 3 meals a day. Yet their has not.

April 23: All Hague adoption paperwork is complete. US Consulate will issue our Article 5 to China (CCCWA) within 10 days. Happy Referral Day: February 21, 2013. We waited 1 year, 6 months, 20 days, 6 hours, 13 minutes. LID - March 26, 2012. DTC (dossier to China): March 9, 2012. USCIS Approval: February 13, 2012. Dossier completed: January 2012.

Tuesday, September 25, 2012. To Haiti and Back: Part Two. We did wake up on time and went to the courtyard to meet Ivinge at our agreed upon time.This was our first real life lesson in Haitian time. Having no idea how long it would take us to get to the airport, we were getting antsy. But now we knew how to contact Ivinge! So Mitch called him and all he could really understand from the other end was, "Menning! Still, we were glad to have Ivinge there with us to make sure we got where we needed to go.

The next piece of paperwork that we were needing in order to bring little miss home came today! As a quick follow up, the house we thought of pursuing already has four contracts on it. Our Journey with Elizabeth. Friday, October 29, 2010. We have Pre Approval! We got awesome news last night. We got our pre-approval! That news came a week after our LOI (letter of intent) finally got submitted. Once we get back from vacation we will finish up our homestudy and fill out the form for immigration approval. Hopefully we can get all sent to USCIS maybe by the 10th or before and get fingerprints maybe before Thanksgiving. Tuesday, October 26, 2010. The kids have been able to continue learning ...

July 31, 2015. We just returned from our family vacation to Winter Park, Colorado! I have to say that going to Colorado in the middle of a Texas summer is pretty perfect.
