Building with Books

Monday, March 20, 2017. Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw. I just finished listening to this book on Audible. I love My Fair Lady but the book is different. It made me smile and think. I wanted to share two of my favorite parts. It is definitely worth picking up for a read! 8220;PICKERING: Excuse the straight question, Higgins. Are you a man of good character where women are concerned? HIGGINS [moodily]: Have you ever met a man of good character where women are concerned? Pickering: At what, for example?

Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper. I stumbled upon this book because of an assignment my son has in his class to read 8 award winners by the end of the year. I have struggled to find award winners for him to read. This book is the winner of the following awards: Buckeye Children's Book Award for 6-8 (2011). Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children's Book Award Nominee (2012). Goodreads Choice Award Nominee (2010). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Why We Read to Our Kids.

http://buildingwithbooks.blogspot.com/2013/09/summer-of-monkeys-by-wilson-rawls.html

Monday, September 30, 2013. Summer of the Monkeys by Wilson Rawls. He could by his own 22 and pony if he could just catch them. Unfortunately the chimpanzee is smarter than he is and he is outfoxed time after time. He doesn't give up and in the end the monkeys are driven by a storm to him and he earns all the money. Does he get his 22 and pony or does he turn the money over to his parents for his twin sister's much needed surgery? A lesson and laughter all in one! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Sunday, December 26, 2010. I actually finished the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy a while ago, but I was traveling a little bit and then with it being Christmas, I didn't get a chance to write my response right away. As it turns out, I'm about 3/4 of the way through. At the moment, but I'm hoping I can keep the plots and events separate enough in my mind to have this be strictly. Grows into a full-fledged Capitol problem that becomes an even bigger problem for Katniss, Peeta, and the residents o...

Originally written end of April. New updates to come shortly. Thankfully with help from our parents we've accomplished a lot this weekend. Top of stairwell. Hopefully the new spindles will be here soon! 4/6 ceiling fans installed. Mudroom, caused by me with the silly hinge doorstops. These stupid doorstops have all been replaced.
