Just another WordPress.com site. August 5, 2013. I was surprised to discovered, some time back, that so much of FRP gaming is sold on PDFs now. This is, for many people, how they buy the new gaming stuff coming out – and increasingly the older stuff that’s reissued in this format. July 30, 2013. What is Good D&D Art? Traditional fantasy roleplaying games. Wonder & Wickedness. Weapons of unusual size. Young Guts from Berserk. Hexagram characters begin with stats rated from 0 to 3, using the arrays. Among other benefits, characters with higher strength scores can wield ever more obscenely scaled weapons. There are three size categories beyond standard: huge, giant, and colossal. They require, respectively, strength scores of 4, 6, and 8, to wield effectively. (Category names are subject to adjustment.). July 23, 2015.

Shall We Play a Game? September 24, 2015. September 25, 2015. In a previous post. I discussed ditching alignments in favor of d20 Modern’s allegiances mechanic. Since I enjoy writing up home-brewed material as if it were published material, here is what I have so far:. Allegiances help define a character’s values. An allegiance may be to an individual, organization, place, or ideal. Family member, friend, political figure, leader of professional guild, mentor, love interest, planar power. The DM should u...

Just another WordPress.com site. September 10, 2013. Day 2: Favorite Playable Race. Strange as it might seem to folks, I never wanted to play anything but a human. In my current games, I think I’d have a hard time letting anyone play as anything but human. I haven’t quite got to the point where I have figured out the ecology of too many of the demi-human types in the campaign yet. When people play demi-humans, do they play them in a cliched way? Note that I am not interested in the discussion of the product's controversial history and Kickstarter. Campaign; the past is the past, and I firmly believe that the product can nevertheless be judged upon its own merits or lack thereof. Then came the invading Eld, the Red Elves from Areon, the Red Planet. They wielded powerful magic and destroyed the Great Ancients...

https://in-the-cities.com/2013/09/17/day-3-favorite-playable-class
Just another WordPress.com site. September 17, 2013. Day 3 – Favorite Playable Class. My mom used to read to me at night before I went to bed. We went through many, many books together this way – until I became old enough to want to read on my own. But, before that critical moment arrived, we had been to Oz (all of the Baum books, plus many of his “Non Oz” masterpieces), Narnia, Prydain, Middle Earth ( The Hobbit. And the entire Lord of the Rings. Green Knowe, and many other imaginary realms. You are com...
