Bull Moose
http://bullmooseblogger.blogspot.com/2006/11/hibernating-moose.html
Friday, November 17, 2006. For now, the Moose bids adieu to his Mooseketeers. It's been a good run. The Moose has tremendously enjoyed musing, observing and holding forth on the issues of the day. But, for the time being, this cervine creature will not be seen in cyberspace. The Moose may re-emerge at any moment in a new venue. The fight is far from over. The program of progressive national greatness is a powerful one that can have great resonance in American public life. So, the Moose declares "farewell...

http://bullmooseblogger.blogspot.com/2006/11/crisis-of-confidence.html
Wednesday, November 15, 2006. The Moose comments on the torment of the right. Back in the early sixties, Barry Goldwater wrote the right wing manifesto, "Conscience of a Conservative." Today, it would likely be titled, "The Crisis of Confidence of a Conservative.". And now, conservatives are wondering how they were so resoundingly rejected not by the elites, but by the masses. They have been left alone. The Moose is not suggesting that conservatism is in disrepute. It has not reached the state of lib...

Tuesday, November 14, 2006. Won't Get Fooled Again. The Moose wonders what the incoming Speaker was thinking when she decided to meddle in the Majority Leader's race. If there was one unmistakable message that the voters were sending last week is that they are sick and tired of the old Washington politics of pork, perks and corruption. That is why it is so perplexing that Congresswoman Pelosi chose as her first major public action to lend her support to John Murtha for Majority Leader. The Speaker-elect'...

http://bullmooseblogger.blogspot.com/2006/11/limits-of-realism.html
Thursday, November 16, 2006. The Moose argues that progressives shouldn't redeploy away from their principles. The Iraq war is leading some progressives into a full embrace of neo-realism. These liberals shun interventionist internationalism for the type of pragmatic realism that was the hallmark of Brent Scowcroft and Jim Baker. In fact, these two Republican figures are rapidly becoming national security role models in progressive circles. The manifold errors in Iraq are giving internationalism a bad na...

Thursday, October 21, 2004. About the Bull Moose. The Bull Moose is an unofficial blog sponsored by the Democratic Leadership Council. Although the Bull Moose has a deep affinity for the New Donkey. He is an independent in the tradition of Theodore Roosevelt's Progressive Party of 1912. The Moose will often vent, kvetch, rant, rage and complain about the events of the day. Hopefully, he will also occasionally amuse. Finally, the Moose closes with words from the master, T.R. -. Posted at 9:01 AM.

Tamouz Rocks: May 2005
http://tamouzrocks.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 11, 2005. Confessions of the obvious. 1) I sure have strong opinions. So does everyone else with a blog. Of course, I've been mocked for expressing them early and often (and strongly) in public, verbally. Are other bloggers like that too? 2) I'm lazy. I know. Posted by tamouzrocks @ 11:38 AM. Tuesday, May 03, 2005. On the face of it, it seems just: one person, one vote. The Jewish desire to maintain a majority is just anti-democratic or chauvinistic or racist. Isn't it? So: the one-state s...
Tamouz Rocks: August 2004
http://tamouzrocks.blogspot.com/2004_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 13, 2004. Jim McGreevey - "I'm Out". Really not sure if his coming out. Is good or bad (but I did think that the NY Post's headline "I'm Out" was clever). It's good in the sense that he's probably the highest profile out politician ever. And it's also good because it's yet another example of how futile it is for a gay person to subsume his homosexuality, no matter what the bible (or the American voter) say. So does that make this good or bad for gay rights? Posted by tamouzrocks @ 10:13 AM.

JDS - Food for Thought. Sunday, September 24, 2006. The following piece speaks for itself. Mum's the word, lest we provoke a lethal tantrum. Clip and save, for this may come in handy:. If you mock Islam with a drawing or a novel, you get riots and dead people. News of mishandled holy books yields riots and dead people. Insufficiently reverent short films by a Dutchman yields a dead person, specifically the Dutchman. But it's not what we say that truly offends. It's what we are. The West's lack of...But i...

Tamouz Rocks: September 2005
http://tamouzrocks.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 06, 2005. It's hard to believe that, for all practical purposes, a whole city is gone. Yet the Louisiana and New Orleans goverments (both Democratic) have a long history of being both corrupt and inefficient themselves. Editorials were written up to 3 years ago warning that if there was a big hurricane, there would be a disaster just like the one we're having. But really, is politics what matters? Tamouz Rocks: July 2005

Thursday, July 21, 2005. Sigh Some things never change. Note the following from the current draft of the new Iraqi constitution. 3 Any individual with another nationality (except for Israel. 4 An Iraqi may have more than one nationality as long as the nationality is not Israeli. And this is with occupying American forces. This is the sort of attitude that frightens Israel from compromising with anyone and makes the IDF go overboard. No, no, not to justify that, of course.
