Monday, January 16, 2012. 3 full weeks since we've had any worker men at our house! Never thought I'd see the day! Now I get to do fun stuff! I finally decided to hit the road to Mary Jo's fabrics in Gastonia, NC to find some fabric for some drapes and throw pillows. I also decided to sew these myself. It was my MLK Day project. Sunday, November 27, 2011. It's the Holiday Season! We also have most light fixtures installed all over the house. Carport steps are finally completed. We have a newly poured concrete wall against the patio where we had to tear out the brick support wall. The carport column has been replaced and made pretty. We still have to figure out what to do above the wall. Possibly a built in bench or something. Not sure about that yet. I've also gotten started decorating for Christmas. YAY! Thursday, October 27, 2011. We have stain on the hardwoods! I am obsessed with how they've turned out so far! Can't wait to see them when they are completely finished. They should get a final coat of the shiny sealer stuff on Sunday, and he says we are free to walk on them Monday. Wooohoo! It is awfully "fumy" in here. We may never be the same after breathing and living with this stuff! Looking in from the carport door to the mudroom/kitchen/den area. Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Not Much to Report.

Tuesday, December 6, 2011. On Thursday, we will be exactly 4 months into our renovation project. I feel like we could have been finished a month ago, but we are not! We lack just a few small things being done. I'm currently at a very frustrated level on the getting finished scale. There is so little left to do, that if four (maybe less) solid hours were spent working over here, they would be 100% finished and I could get started getting back to my normal life. It is so nice to be able to live here a while and not have to rent or live in a house that's not particularly liveable! Next time, I plan to move in February.
