parentwin: Birthday parties in the modern age
http://www.parentwin.com/2015/08/birthday-parties-in-modern-age.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. Birthday parties in the modern age. My kids are turning seven next Monday, and to celebrate, I'm throwing them a party at a local bowling alley on Saturday. And so, I find myself here. Just a few days before this party. With three kids coming. This is how far we've wandered, people. Right now, though, we do have six kids coming, which is plenty for me. This coming school year, I will do my best to promote at least acquaintanceship with other parents. I will try to learn about ...

The House that Crazy Built. Sunday, September 30, 2012. If silence is golden.that must be why we are broke. I live in a household with my dad (65 year old workaholic who works from home a lot), my brother (33 year old guy who just hangs out here occasionally), Myself (36 year old chatty cathy nice-to-meet-ya), an almost 5 year old Diva Braniac and a 3 and a half year old engineer in training. http://feauxcajun.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 30, 2015. Thirsty Thursday: Strawberry Mint Julep. Since I'm rocking a bump. For the next 23 weeks or so, my NOLA cousin Primeaux has offered to step in and help out with coming up with some tasty Thirsty Thursday cocktails for you all! He's so kind, putting all those years of bartending experience to good use! He's made many improvements since our days of youth when all drinks incorporated pickle juice and a dare of some sort.). Me and Primeaux, circa 1981. Pre- pickle-juice dare days.

The FeauxCajun Kitchen: January 2015
http://feauxcajun.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 7, 2015. It’s time yet again to look back 365 days, reflect over things learned, experienced, tasted and tried. This year, we ran The Scoop for its second and final season, closing up in October. We tried a Daniel Fast and succeeded…and tried a Whole 30 Challenge, and failed. We saw a Supermoon, vacationed in the Smoky Mountains, met a bear…. Oh, and I made a few posts here. Not as many as I’d like, but apparently you all liked them anyway! TOP POSTS OF 2014:. 3 Daniel Fast Prep. Appar...

http://feauxcajun.blogspot.com/2012/04/hola-bonjourno-howdy-hi.html
Saturday, April 7, 2012. Hola, bonjourno, howdy, and hi. 1) Who is Feaux? Feaux is Bobbi. Or Bobbi is Feaux…I’m not sure which is proper. C’est moi:. I'm a thirty-something new [working] mom who loves food, family, and writing about both. 2) What do you do? I’m a geologist/environmental scientist. When I lived in Louisiana, I dealt mainly in wetlands, and oil and gas exploration. Now I deal primarily with leaking petroleum sites, and karst (aka caves). 3) Why do you blog? 4) What do you LOVE? So there yo...

Thursday, August 6, 2015. And you somehow manage to not cook a single "real" meal all week, aside from a doctored up Hamburger Helper on Monday, and you forget to do any kind of lunch prep over the weekend. ( And maybe everyone else but you raises their hand during baby class when the instructor asks who already has their car seat installed. *sigh*). Breakfast -8:30a (the second one, which baby was apparently okay with. A PB sandwich on multigrain. Afternoon Snack(s) - 2p-4:30p:. 11p - Split a Samoa donut.

The FeauxCajun Kitchen: Thirsty Thursday: Watermelon Margaritas (Virgin or Non)
http://feauxcajun.blogspot.com/2015/07/thirsty-thursday-watermelon-margaritas.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. Thirsty Thursday: Watermelon Margaritas (Virgin or Non). Question: Do you sprinkle salt or sugar on your watermelon? My grandma always did salt, but the Hubs tells me he's only seen people sprinkle sugar. That just seems silly- watermelon is usually plenty sweet, and the salt makes that sweetness really pop. If you've got a watermelon addiction like me, or need to use up a bunch of melon before it starts to go south- here's an awesome option to help beat the summertime heat!

The FeauxCajun Kitchen: Bonus recipe: Pumpkin Cranberry Scones
http://feauxcajun.blogspot.com/2011/11/scones-will-forever-always-remind-me-of.html
Saturday, November 19, 2011. Bonus recipe: Pumpkin Cranberry Scones. Scones will forever and always remind me of the year I lived in New Orleans, thanks to Maurice’s bakery. Let’s travel back in time, shall we? To 2004: I was a post-grad student at University of New Orleans, working part time as a grad assistant on campus, and part-time as a gourmet foods associate (read: cheese monger) at Martin’s Wine Cellar. Found a base recipe, and with a few modifications, we have this:. 3 cups all-purpose flour.
