Road Less Traveled: Saturday, May 19th
http://travelingverylightly.blogspot.com/2012/07/saturday-may-19th.html
Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Saturday, May 19th. The next morning, we gassed up and headed out to Gatlinburg. There is more to do in Cherokee than what we took the time to do, so it is worth a return trip. We made a little side trip to Clingman's Dome. On the way to Gatlinburg. The guys thought a half-mile hike up a steep incline would be fun! The road to the Dome was a great short ride, but had a great deal of traffic. It was also quite foggy that morning. Did I mention that it was a steep half-mile? Then Do...

Monday, May 28, 2012. Wednesday, May 16th, continued. And we are still headed east along the Ocoee, finding great places to stop along the way. Above is the backside of one of the dams. All of the dams fascinated the engineer with us. Then we were back on the road.heading to Robbinsville, North Carolina. When we turned onto US Hwy 129 headed toward the Two-Wheel Inn. The temperature dropped so that Tracy forgot to take pictures. It was wonderfully curvy and quite cool! Wednesday, May 16th, Traveling East.

Road Less Traveled: Friday, May 18th
http://travelingverylightly.blogspot.com/2012/07/wednesday-may-18th.html
Sunday, July 1, 2012. Friday, May 18th. So the next morning, we headed out, with the destination being Asheville, NC, via the Blue Ridge Parkway. We stopped at a visitor's center primarily due to having to turn around when we missed the entrance to the Parkway, primarily due to the sign being so small. (As good excuse as any I would say.). Below is a great example of my attempts to take pictures from the back of a bike. This was an incredible ride! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sunday, June 3rd.

Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Sunday, May 20th. In Lebanon, we stopped for a quick bite of lunch, made sure packages and bags remained secure.then back on the road. One last stop to stretch the legs west of Nashville. What an awesome trip! We traveled over 1200 miles during those five days and decided then that it would not be our last trip. Sunday, July 1, 2012. Fri, May 18th continued. Still on the Blue Ridge Parkway. At the highest point of the Blue Ridge. The many tunnels were great fun as the guys could appreciate (enjoy) their pipes! Isn't this a great sign? The area around the entrance was architecturally amazing! The buildings were very European. Ideally, we would have eaten at one of the many places on the Biltmore Estate. We found lodging at a local chain hotel (our only night in one), drove around Cherokee, then went to dinner at ...

Sunday, June 10, 2012. Thurs, May 17th morning cont. Still on Hwy 129, the Tail of the Dragon. Along the path, there are photographers that take pictures of your adventure on the Dragon.these are a few from one of the sites. 88 miles into the 11 miles is a Tail of the Dragon Overlook. Obviously, people have left interesting tags behind. And there were a few comedians. Leaving Tellico Plains, we headed east on the. Naturally, the Skyway started with a visit to a Harley Davidson out-post. Along the way the...
