Sanjeev Gopinath V: September 2009

Views expressed are my own. Monday, 28 September 2009. Yet another day with linux. I was playing with the windows (not MS Windows) effects of KDE in Fedora. In the wobbling effect, I set weird values and finally all my windows, menus and everything started to move randomly and quickly. I thot, omg! Do I need to reinstall everything again? Is there no solution? Then slowly I tried understanding the window behaviour and chose the resize option. Tada! Moral of the story is : Linux is user friendly.

It’s like this. everyone cannot focus on reinventing the same wheel and releasing it as a new technology or product. It is always good to make use of already invented things and yet make something real cool. Let me stop with this for now, it’s already late 1:40 am, I might start blabbering in the post if I don’t. Views expressed are my own. Monday, 15 December 2008. Travel with me to Andaman. I would like to share with you people about my journey to th e islands. Lets get to it straight. We waited at the lounge there and moved on for security check. When we were standing in the big queue, we saw Daniel Balaji – Kaaka Kaaka co-actor. He was short and was very casual. Fine, it was then time for security check! I knew that the alarm would beep when I pass thru, and guess what? It was very boring by then and time was...

Views expressed are my own. Tuesday, 26 April 2011. Compiling your first Linux Kernel. First things First - Checklist :. 1 You should have a linux system. In my case I use, Ubuntu 10.10. 2 Make sure you've free space well above 1.5 GB to make sure you don't end up with less hard disk space in the middle of the process. 1 Getting the linux Kernel Source. 2 Extracting the Source. 3 Exploring the Kernel Source (Optional). 4 Making the Kernel. This is one of the most important steps in the whole process, and...

The sunrise is awesome and the clouds that surround the hill during the morning. More than anything else, the trekking experience itself is far worth the bucks spent! What's the minimum budget per person? It generally depends on how you plan the trip. Exclusive of the conveyance charges, I'd say around 500 INR, should be quite good. Right time to visit Skandagiri? How to reach it?

Views expressed are my own. Monday, 30 June 2008. GLOSS session on Open High Availability Cluster. Today we had a session on OHAC. It was a brainstorming session in fact! Views expressed are my own. Wednesday, 5 May 2010. Yacc is a tool to write parsers. Parsers are grammar analysers. We can specify grammars as we do in writing grammar for CFGs and other automata concepts. If yacc finds the input to be matching to the grammar, it finds the action to be taken and executes it. May be if time permits, I'm willing to do a spelling and grammar checking program and embed it into my own text editor. Posted by Sanjeev Gopinath. Wednesday, May 05, 2010. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
