Buns-Eye View: May 2009
http://bunseye.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 6, 2009. Outside through the windows and the sun room door for so long, I was starting to get spring fever! So Amy found an old harness - which barely fit around my belly - and leash, strapped them on me, and took me outside (I'm only allowed to go outside in a harness because I can slip a collar, and only in the backyard.even then, it makes Amy nervous! I had so much fun! I haven't ventured back outside since then, but I'm slowly working up my nerve.it was fun while it lasted!
Buns-Eye View: Giving Thanks
http://bunseye.blogspot.com/2009/11/giving-thanks.html
Sunday, November 29, 2009. I don't usually eat people food (when offered a bite, I tend to just lick it over and over), but dad's plate of Thanksgiving dinner looked so good I could not help myself. He left it alone while he went to get a beverage, and when he came back I was licking the chicken. It was so tasty! My camera took a picture right as he shoo-ed me off the tray table - too bad you can't see Amy's delicious cooking. I also took this nice picture of Ralphie watching football:. Posted by Amy W.
Buns-Eye View: June 2009
http://bunseye.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 17, 2009. Posted by Amy W. Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Window to the World. Although I spend most of my summer hours outside in the sun room, I haven't completely given up my perch on the guest room nightstand. This is actually my favorite place to be in the morning, before Noe gets up and opens the sun room. These are views of Plant Street around 7:30 AM. Good morning, New London! Posted by Amy W. Buns-Eye View: December 2009
http://bunseye.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 16, 2009. One of Noe's favorite things to do is work on his crossword puzzle book. Amy gave him a big book of puzzles last year for Christmas. I think this is how he gets his brain exercise while he waits to go back to school. Normally I like to sit ON the puzzle book and chew on his pen, but it is hard to get a good picture from that angle - so I took one from the couch instead. Posted by Amy W. Buns-Eye View: January 2010
http://bunseye.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 24, 2010. Like most Americans, I enjoy watching football on Sundays. My favorite teams are teams with animal names. Since there are no more kitties in the playoffs, I have thrown my support behind my dad Noe's favorite team. Here we are cheering on the Indianapolis Colts! Posted by Amy W. Tuesday, January 12, 2010. It is warm, and soft, and has fun tunnels ("sleeves") to burrow in - what more could a kitty want? Here are some pictures of me in my Snuggie:. Posted by Amy W.

A Wiseman Once Said...: Wine and Cheese, Trifecta style
http://amyewiseman.blogspot.com/2008/06/wine-and-cheese-trifecta-style.html
A Wiseman Once Said. Monday, June 16, 2008. Wine and Cheese, Trifecta style. Lately the Trifecta (Amanda, Katie, and myself - plus sometimes the Mini Deal) have been spending a lot of time (and money) at two of the "Thames River" group of businesses - Thames River Wine and Spirits. And Brie and Bleu. John recently posted reviews of the stuff we tried last Friday.). Perhaps we are a little too. Brie and Bleu is billed as "New London's Premier Cheese Market" but they are also an excellent little bistro wit...
A Wiseman Once Said...: Inne the Know
http://amyewiseman.blogspot.com/2008/02/well-its-been-bit-of-busy-weekend.html
A Wiseman Once Said. Sunday, February 17, 2008. Well, it's been a bit of a busy weekend. Let's start with a progress report:. 4 on Saturday, 0 on Sunday - my shins were killing me. I am DEFINTELY out of shape. Only two rows. Haven't watched a lot of TV. I expect to get a foot or two done when I go downstairs to watch. I have dying to watch this show but we never had Showtime). Once the scarf is done, I am biting the bullet and buying double-pointed needles. It's time to move on. I am a restaurant snob...
A Wiseman Once Said...: Premium vintage
http://amyewiseman.blogspot.com/2010/04/premium-vintage.html
A Wiseman Once Said. Tuesday, April 13, 2010. I've written about my love of vintage dresses. Vintage salt and pepper shakers. And even mentioned my new-ish obsession with vintage aprons. A recent search through my closet brought back an older interest: vintage pocketbooks. First vintage pocketbook -. My crappy photos don't show the beautiful, shiny bronze-y color. My second - and favorite - pocketbook. Last weekend, I unearthed this:. Posted by Amy W. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). In "real time" Amy.
A Wiseman Once Said...: Fun Finds
http://amyewiseman.blogspot.com/2010/01/fun-finds.html
A Wiseman Once Said. Monday, January 11, 2010. I love sea lions, as many of you know from my posts about volunteering at the aquarium. I also love vintage salt and pepper shakers shaped like animals. Imagine my delight when, over my Christmas vacation in Michigan, I found not one but TWO pairs of sea lion salt and pepper shakers for my collection! Chartreuse sea lions from Miami. According to the sticker). More traditional black sea lions. And a Ralphie paw). Posted by Amy W. In "real time" Amy.
A Wiseman Once Said...: Blowing Smoke
http://amyewiseman.blogspot.com/2009/11/blowing-smoke.html
A Wiseman Once Said. Monday, November 2, 2009. I realize I'm a little late with this post, as it was promised several days ago. I can only blame computer fatigue (as in, I look at a computer so much every day at work that I couldn't stand to look at one at home). Chester's Barbecue in New London. Photo from chestersbbq.com). Piles of smoked meats. Sides, drinks, cornbread. Bag o' pork ribs. Chester's also offers a good deal if you are trying to feed a group. On several occasions we have ordered the B...
A Wiseman Once Said...: Dev's On Bank Street
http://amyewiseman.blogspot.com/2008/04/devs-on-bank-street.html
A Wiseman Once Said. Sunday, April 6, 2008. Dev's On Bank Street. The weekend got off to an early start when Amanda and I decided to go out to dinner on Thursday. We went to Dev's on Bank Stree. A newer restaurant in town which bills its food style as "Mediterrasian Tapas." This turned out to be a most excellent choice. First of all, their wine list is more extensive - and interesting (it's nice to see a restaurant acknowledge that there are wine-producing regions outside of California! Posted by Amy W.
A Wiseman Once Said...: Captain, my captain
http://amyewiseman.blogspot.com/2009/09/captain-my-captain.html
A Wiseman Once Said. Thursday, September 10, 2009. Captain, my captain. I occasionally tell people that the first thing I learned to like about New England was the hot lobster roll. This usually gets a chuckle or two. I'm not saying it to be funny, however. I'm deadly serious when it comes to the local delicacy. We knew about a few places in Mystic (we had seen them when we came here for house-hunting trips) and we live down the street from Fred's Shanty, which served my fried clam craving well for a few...
A Wiseman Once Said...: Apizz-ment
http://amyewiseman.blogspot.com/2009/03/apizz-ment.html
A Wiseman Once Said. Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Last Thursday my former co-workers Jeanette and Dena invited me out to celebrate (almost) completing my first week at the new job (which is going great, by the way). Our destination? A new brick-oven pizzeria recently opened by Jeanette's friend, Stefan, in Pawcatuck. I immediately liked the look of Apizzo. We started with drinks - wine, naturally - Stefan keeps a decent selection of mid-priced Italian vino on hand. However, what was truly impressive as...
A Wiseman Once Said...: 2 Wives are better than one
http://amyewiseman.blogspot.com/2009/08/2-wives-are-better-than-one.html
A Wiseman Once Said. Sunday, August 2, 2009. 2 Wives are better than one. I've been meaning to get in a post about 2 Wives Brick Oven Pizza. Here in New London for awhile now. We all knew it was opening awhile before it actually did, thanks to being plugged in with New London Main Street and downtown in general (New London is NOT a big place). We were excited to sample the four cheese pizza with pink vodka sauce at the Spring Food Stroll. Laziness, I guess. But let's start with the pizza. In Pawcatuck (w...
A Wiseman Once Said...: Here's Lookin' at You, Kid.
http://amyewiseman.blogspot.com/2008/10/heres-lookin-at-you-kid.html
A Wiseman Once Said. Saturday, October 25, 2008. Here's Lookin' at You, Kid. I love dressing up, and I love parties, so naturally I was way into John Felty's Casablanca. Themed birthday party last night. Katie cooked us an amazing dinner of lamb, chicken, squash, potatoes, and green beans; John opened some very good bottles of wine; and several of us sported movie-inspired costumes. Queuing up to fill our plates. John's house is more of a wine joint than a gin joint. I tried out D-Train's. Posted by Amy W.

Another culinary treat in our house were turkey grills which were turkey bits reformed and shaped and coloured to look like rashers of bacon. They are probably to blame for a whole generation of hyperactive children. Nostalgia also brings about a favourite childhood film, the Railway Children. To this day I cry when it’s the ‘my Daddy! Bit and so does my Mother we’ve been known to ring each other up and say, ‘turn to BBC1, it’s that bit…. Nope we won’t cry, not this time…. I’m fine, o...Writes stories as...
