Okashi3 – おかしさん. Discovering the quiet places of Tokyo – Shimokitazawa. Shimokitazawa has become very popular in the last years especially among young people. There are a lot of small boutiques like second hand stores for example that sell unique and individual items. You can find a bunch of small cafés where you can have organic coffee after a stroll through the city. Shimokitazawa absolutely pours on the charme. I will let the photos speak for themselves. Reminds me of Spirited Away. Blogs, I follow.

Okashi3 – おかしさん. Harajuku – young, fancy and a little bit crazy. Then I noticed a group at the entrance of Takeshita Dori that many passerbys took photos of. They had a really great style and I guess they are quite famous in Harajuku. I saw the fox in several fashion videos from Harajuku. Continue reading →. Harajuku – traditional and trendy. Getting lost continues in.. Shibuya | okashi3 – おかしさん

Okashi3 – おかしさん. Getting lost continues in. Shibuya. Although I put a lot of effort into my plannings, getting lost when you visit a city for the first time all by yourself is inevitable. The plan for this day was visiting Koen-Dori (公園通り) and Bunkamura-Dori in Shibuya (文化村通り ). They were said to be great shopping areas providing a huge variety of fashion, entertainment and culture. I think all in all I was eating a lot more in bakerys than in actual restaurants. When I left the station I found myself in...

Update of Mini-Goal: Japanese Speaking | Hardships Unnumbered
https://hardshipsunnumbered.wordpress.com/2016/08/21/update-of-mini-goal-japanese-speaking
Flound'ring like a man in fire or lime. Making the most of time. Reading- An Approach to Language Learning →. Update of Mini-Goal: Japanese Speaking. So, a few weeks ago I set myself a mini-goal of speaking Japanese. This was a big thing for me as I always feel self-conscious and reasonably stupid when I speak – struggle wit. 1) Shadowing and noticing. I have a Japanese shadowing book which is basically a script of short exchanges with accompanying audio. I approached this in a couple of ways. 8217; so I...

Flound'ring like a man in fire or lime. Newer posts →. So, my reading plan then is to focus on target-reading books, original Italian books, books and audiobooks of texts I’m familiar with in English and also short articles from Rai Arte or Rai Letturatura. I don’t think I did so much reading when learning Japanese but this is partly due to not finding the texts I wanted or having to learn five hundred Kanji before I could even attempt them! By icyotsuba . I’ve set myself a goal here to work throu...

Flound'ring like a man in fire or lime. Italian – end of the 1st month. Update: Mini-Goal – Noticing Kanji →. So what will be my goals for the second month? Japanese Goals – spending time with the language. This is not going to be completing books – like last month. Instead it’s about skills and spending time developing these skills. It’s also about ‘time’. Writing Goal – 3 days for 1hr (intensive). Vocabulary and Kanji Goal- 5 days for 20mins (low to medium). Random pages in ‘Basic Kanji 1’. Interesting...

Flound'ring like a man in fire or lime. Biscuit, brew and Japanese. How much studying can you do in 5 minutes? Taking those next steps…. Here I’ve been noticing compound Kanji but I have forgotten the meaning of some parts of them. To help me further with this, next week I’ll be using a range of Kanji books (which I have a far few) to see which is the best to clarify such difficulties. I’ll review on this next week. So, what do you do about this? 1) Forgotten grammar points. 2) Confusion or uncertainty.

Italian – end of the 1st month | Hardships Unnumbered
https://hardshipsunnumbered.wordpress.com/2016/07/30/italian-end-of-the-1st-month
Flound'ring like a man in fire or lime. Japanese – end of the 1st month. Month 2: Goals →. Italian – end of the 1st month. My monthly goals for Italian were very different to my goals for Japanese. Japanese was heavily focused on grammar and Kanji. My focus for Italian was simply to enjoy reading and listening with the odd review of vocabulary. Certainly the schedule was less onerous. There was no real need to work out how many chapters I had to do each week or each day. By icyotsuba . Japanese – ...
