It was almost 2 days of squatting and digging with a small hoe-like tool. You can see I am cheating by sitting on a log. This is Didi harvesting barley. All the grains are cut by hand, like she is doing. The girls are over 8 months now, and seeing places other than Jumla for the first time (at least that they can comprehend. It is fun to see them explore new surroundings.

In Nepal And Growing. Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Hard to believe, but true- ELise is standing! Andrew's doing most of the balancing, but Elise is cooperating well by keeping her legs straight and her head still. This is on the rooftop of our friends' house in Surkhet. It is hot there these days, so after dinner we all went up to the roof to talk and cool off. We were so thankful to be here after a 16 hour bus ride! The girls being cute (and not wearing many clothes because of the heat).

In Nepal And Growing. Thursday, November 18, 2010. Maya Joy and Elise Ann. Two little blessings arrived on Nov.11 at 3am. Maya Joy and Elise Ann (left to right). They were removed by c-section as they were breach and transverse. Maya came out first and about five minutes later Elise appeared. Maya was 6lbs 1 oz and Elise was 5lbs 4oz. We love them! We apologize for the tardiness of these photos. This is Maya forgetting that she is not still in the womb. Grandpa Sargent with his first grandchild.
