https://innlaylake.wordpress.com/2010/03/27/alodaw-pauk-pagoda

Innlay Lake in Myanmar. Just another WordPress.com weblog. It lies in Nampan Village, Nyaung Shwe Township, southern Shan State. It was one of the 84000 pagodas built by Thiri Dhamma Thawka the famous king. It was then known as Innphaya Pagoda. King Anawrahta eventually arrived in Inlay and had to rebuild the pagoda as it was left only as the foot of the original pagoda. He consecrated eight more relics of Buddha there. Burmese Friendship | Friendship Force tour 2.15.13 to 3.2.13

Friendship Force tour 2.15.13 to 3.2.13. Bagan, with its thousands of temples and pagodas dating from the 11th Century. Bagan, seen from hot air balloons. Mt Popa, home to Nats and Zwagyis. The steep winding staircase shared with monkeys is clearly seen going up. A mischievous Zawgyi in disguise, or just a temple monkey? Only the Zawgyis know. As Rudyard Kipling once wrote: This is Burma. It will be quite unlike any land you know about. How right he was. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Butchers i...
