Taco Snob: Migas with Cheese at The Blanco Cafe
http://tacosnob.blogspot.com/2008/06/migas-with-cheese-at-blanco-cafe.html
Monday, June 16, 2008. Migas with Cheese at The Blanco Cafe. I'll start my first review off with the closest restaurant to my house. I eat there more than is probably healthy, but with tacos a mere block and a half away, it's too tempting to pass up. The restaurant was started over 30 years ago and is a San Antonio favorite. Now with multiple locations around the city and a reputation of greatness, it is a Tacoland staple. The Blanco Cafe #1. 1720 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX - (210) 732-6480. My favorite ...

Bay Area Review of Burritos: Los Cantaros, San Pablo Ave., Emeryville
http://bayareareviewofburritos.blogspot.com/2013/03/los-cantaros-san-pablo-ave-emeryville.html
Bay Area Review of Burritos. When we needed to find a hippie bookstore that sold secondhand books, I thought of Abandoned Planet (518 Valencia St.), which is right across the street from where I used to live, . When I was a starving writer-director-actor, I'd go to the Muddy Waters Cafe (521 Valencia St.) every day, buy a 3.50 burrito and eat half for lunch, half for dinner' -Muddy Waters. Bay Area Review of Burritos. A must read for anyone remotely interested in foil-wrapped tube food" -. I wait a long ...

The grass is full of tiny stories. Sunday, October 12, 2014. The other day one of my egg customers asked me, "So how many chickens do you have? And I didn't know! So yesterday I popped open Google Docs and started cataloging who's still out there. Amazingly, that includes Pearl, my Gold-laced Wyandotte (an old American meat-n-eggs breed) who will be 10 years old if she makes it through the winter. Ten! We expect nothing of her these days except to enjoy the sun and look pretty. No, but she is now. So onc...

Fog City Notes: November 2004
http://fogcitynotes.blogspot.com/2004_11_01_archive.html
One observant girl takes on the fog city. Monday, November 29, 2004. Thanksgiving (and a mini bus report from Beantown). I spent a lovely Thanksgiving weekend in, here it goes: Brookline, Scarsdale and Somerset with cameo appearances in New Brunswick NJ, Brighton MA, Allston, MA and Trenton, NJ. If you showered me with love, affection and hospitality I am grateful. I saw the Hs., the Ys., Miss M. and A. I was given birthday cake twice in public and once at the Ns. I saw the bird, who is doing quite well.

Bumblebee Nation: Mariposas of Leisure
http://bumblebeenation.blogspot.com/2013/08/mariposas-of-leisure.html
The grass is full of tiny stories. Tuesday, August 06, 2013. We are terrible tourists, Greg and I. In four days we have seen zero area attractions- unless you count a pet cemetary as an attraction, in which case we have seen one. And epic freeway traffic; we've seen that, too. The news says it's been "chilly" lately.Really? It's been mid-70s, so nice.). We had a lot to catch up on, and I loved having time to talk with her kids, all grown now, and a real delight. The Circle K corral. Greg's riding Chief, ...

Fog City Notes: Bus Report #881
http://fogcitynotes.blogspot.com/2015/07/bus-report-881.html
One observant girl takes on the fog city. Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Tuesday, late afternoon on the 19 Polk. It's crowded but I've got a seat near the back since most of the other people who boarded when I did were afraid to sit back there with the laughing teens and the man drinking a beer wrapped in a paper bag. Amateurs, I thought, slipping past the knot of CCA students to an open seat next to the beer drinker. I nod my head, say, "Yeah.". Posted by Rachel at 3:45 PM. Spying on the city, but nicely.

Fog City Notes: Bus Report #882
http://fogcitynotes.blogspot.com/2015/07/bus-report-882.html
One observant girl takes on the fog city. Friday, July 17, 2015. Late night at The Academy of Sciences for Nightlife. Thanks for the tickets, GoGoCraft. Afterwards, after making a bow tie and seeing the penguins and the famous albino alligator, Claude, I waited in the dark at the bus stop with half a dozen other people. SFMTA, please put in some lights at this bus stop. It's dark and didn't feel very safe, even with all the people milling around after the event. At 6th Ave. the bus mostly emptied out.
