It has an executive President as Head of State. Summer is from November to March. High temperatures average 35C to 40C with lows around 18C and rain particularly in December and January. Winter is from June to August. Daytime temperatures around 23C with night time lows averaging 5C. The Pula (BWP) divided into 100 Thebes. Pula also means rain!

Welcome to our Web site! We are a Swedish/Danish family living in Botswana in Southern Africa since March 2005. Before coming here we lived in Malmö in Sweden. We have a some what mixed background; Jonas. Was born in Denmark but lived in Kenya for many years as a child. Charlotte. Was born in Sweden but has studied in England and met Jonas while working in Pretoria, South Africa. Jens. Was born in Stockholm (16 September 2002) and Axel. In Malmö (13 February 2005). Last but not least we have Smilla.

On Thursday 1 March at 11:45 little Sofia Lykke Naledi Ottosen was born at Gaborone Private Hospital. She weighed 3200 gram and was 49 cm. All went well. 5:30 in the morning and on our way to the hospital. Very scared and sceptical but in a fancy outfit. 11:45 and she is here. My gynea Katherine came running just as she popped out but luckilly Swedish anesthesist Ulrika was by my side as well. Midwives Grace from Zambia and Elis from Malawi were there for me the whole time. Here I am in all my glory.
