Bushwalking in Melbourne

Wednesday, August 15, 2007. Walk 6 from " Day Walks Melbourne. Length: 11.3km, circuit. Time: 3.5 hours. Up to Flinders peak is a bit of a beginners trail and hardly worth calling a daywalk. The view from the top is worth going up. In addition, the geoglyph is worth seeing and you can walk up to the geoglyph via the Branding yard trail. Nothing else to say. Walk 27 from " Day Walks Melbourne. Length: 18.8km, circuit. Long walk. Not that interesting. Worth doing only if you want to do a long walk. This wa...

Bushwalking in Melbourne: Wilhelmina Falls

http://bushwalkingmelbourne.blogspot.com/2007/06/wilhelmina-falls.html

Friday, June 22, 2007. Walk 32 from " Day Walks Melbourne. Length: 12.9km, circuit. This was a nice walk. The falls are definitely the highlight as you could imagine from the name. It was drizzling on this walk and it was nice to be out walking. Other than the falls, it is scrubby bushland and a fairly easy walk. The falls are worth seeing though by themselves. The way that the water spreads out across the rock is really beautiful and creates a silvery lake-like appearance. Google map of places walked.

Sunday, 28 August 2016. Some shelters need a pole longer than the full extension of a trekking pole. I have not seen a trekking pole that can extend out past 145cm. Fizan Compacts (158g each, 7001 alloy, 17/16/14mm telescopic) range from 58cm to 132cm. They might be found on sale for $50 each or less. Helinox GL145 poles (204g each) at 145cm may be just long enough for a small 2 person pyramid. This strong 4-section adjustable pole for a pyramid tent weighs 325g. Trekking pole extenders in close-up.
