Friday, 23 March 2012. This morning i went popping for bream at first light which is my favourite time of the day. The estuary was shallow and grass growing to the top of the water at times. After a few casts i connected and a slender fish leapt in the air which made me guess as to what it was. Once at the shore i laid my eyes on what i though to be a Longtom. After i took a photo i put him back in the water. Later i googled it up and it seems to be a Needle Fish or "Tylosurus Crocodilus".

Monday, 16 July 2012. After a few unsucessful attempts to catch my first landbased Barramundi at Mataranka i was very keen to check out this billabong i was told about. The local Aboriginees fish there but the walk was a bit tricky i was told. So off i went through the bush along the creek and through the palm trees. Wasn't long before i saw the first wildlife in form of a snake disappearing in the crown of the tree. After a few swamp crossings i made it to the billabong which looked like gods own country.

Thursday, 27 September 2012. Fished the flats at Exmouth for Bonefish for two days and although i saw them twice in the crystal clear water, they just wouldn't take my soft plastic. On the edge of the reef there was more action with a few Trevally, Flathead with pretty tails, longtom and other reef fish. The Golden Trevally were great fun on the 2-4kg rod. I also managed my first Spangled Emperor which was fantastic on the plate, cooked crispy skin with just salt on the hotplate, garlic potatoes and salad.
