About 10 years ago, one of my co-workers let me borrow a copy of The Jam Collection. A hodgepodge of singles and b-sides, and I was floored by how good it was. I was into The Who and Blur, bands that obviously influenced and were influenced by (respectively) The Jam, so I had been eager to hear them, but I didn't expect this. The Great Depression - The Jam.

Minutemen released so many great songs (and so many songs, period) that it's difficult to pick just one, so as I've done. If you watched MTV in the past 10 years, you know at least one song. Is often talked about as an influential album, and apparently it was even pretty successful, yet I imagine the average person has never heard of it (or the band).
