Thursday, September 25, 2014. WTF 50 pre-race thoughts. In its defence, Lane Cove may well be the best suburb to live if you like running trails. They’re everywhere! The rest of July and the first half of August I got in some good runs, both with Megan and by myself, culminating in a 35 km run on the 21. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Donuts and Yoyos: Vancouver to Yosemite
http://donutsandyoyos.blogspot.com/2011/10/vancouver-to-yosemite.html
Friday, October 28, 2011. Some rugged Washington coastline. In Oregon. I also had an amazing day driving down the northern Californian coast and through the giant redwood forests, although I haven't uploaded the pics to Flickr. Yet I'll get around to it at some stage. Excellent information. This site definitely explains essential concepts to its readers. Thanks for continuing to write such wonderful articles. January 22, 2013 at 7:51 PM. Donuts and Yoyos: May 2014
http://donutsandyoyos.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 19, 2014. My friend Mitch recently wrote:. Never race 100 km. It’s like a marathon, but instead of the pain lasting for 12 km, the pain lasts for 36 km. On completing the Six Foot Track Marathon, my friend Brendon said:. That is the hardest thing I've ever done. It's a question I had plenty of time to ponder while I was tromping along for most of Saturday. And he replied, "Not nearly so well as it looks like you are! So, why do we do this? Donuts and Yoyos: Leaving Vancouver

Tuesday, October 11, 2011. I've also discovered that there are no two taps in this entire goddamn country that are the same. The array of levers, knobs and handles suggests that somewhere there's a guy whose sole purpose in life is to dream up new, ingenious, and incredibly complicated methods of dispensing water. He probably lives in Hastings. Nice to hear you enjoyed the rest of your time in Vancouver! Come back soon and tell others! October 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Tuesday, May 13, 2014. TNF50 - thoughts and lessons learned. In four days time I'm going to do my second ultramarathon, The North Face 50 in the Blue Mountains just outside Sydney. I thought I'd resurrect my blog to put down some thoughts on my training and goals for the race, similar to what my friend Mitch did here. You should also read his race review here. The weight training portion used a bastardised 5/3/1 progression (you can find some information here. I'm planning to carry 12 gels (Gu is my pref...

Donuts and Yoyos: March 2011
http://donutsandyoyos.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 20, 2011. Six Foot Track Marathon. The race starts with a steep, treacherous, difficult downhill section called Nelly's Glen. I've never been quick going downhill, so my plan was to just start in the middle of the pack and take it as it came. The rain the night before had soaked this section and it was particularly treacherous and everyone took it very easy. The first kilometer took fifteen minutes, which gives an idea of the pace. After the river crossing is where things get serious. It be...
