Generosity is not a weakness. Why did I hesitate? Was it pure selfishness? I hesitated because I thought generosity was a sign of weakness. If I gave in and let someone go before me, I was giving up my advantage if being one place ahead in a grocery line on a Sunday afternoon can be considered an advantage. How many times do we choose not to be generous because we think it gives others an advantage? We hesitate to let someone who is waiting at an intersection in heavy traffic into the lane in front of us.
