Buttery Baking

Saturday, 16 July 2011. Here are some recipes that I put together a while ago. These are simple to make. Bake a batch of plain cupcakes, when pouring the ingredients into a cupcake holder try placing some lemon curd in the middle. Whilst cooking, roll some ready made icing and either cut or stamp a star shaped cutter into the icing. Once the cupcakes are cooled place the star on top and top with some edible sprinkles. Sweetheart Cupcakes and love cookies. Friday, 3 December 2010. 2 Teaspoons ground ginger.

Buttery Baking: October 2010

http://www.butterybaking.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, 16 October 2010. Brownies are my favourite they are crunchy on the outside but soft and goey on the inside. Brownies are great for a quick chocolate fix and are neither too sweet or savoury. They can be eaten warm or cold and go great with ice cream or fruit. I leave nuts out of mine to keep it traditional and let the taste of chocolate come through. 200g dark cooking chocolate. I put the chocolate and butter into a bowl over simmering water and leave it to melt whilst I weigh out my ingredients.

Buttery Baking: Pudsey Bear Cookies

http://www.butterybaking.blogspot.com/2010/11/pudsey-bear-cookies.html

Thursday, 18 November 2010. I saw this recipe and thought it would be lovely to bake gingerbread cookies in the shape of Pudsey for Children in Need. I sold them to my work colleagues along with a few other wonderful baking creations my colleagues made. I hope to raise a good amount of money with them. The recipe can also be used for simple gingerbread cookies for any occasion. 350g self-raising flour
. 8232;2 tsp ground ginger
. 100g maple syrup
. 2 tbsp caster sugar
. 1 egg, lightly beaten.

Buttery Baking: December 2010

http://www.butterybaking.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Friday, 3 December 2010. I set out to make gingerbread men but then half the country fell with snow and suddenly the whole of my neighbourhood was covered in the white stuff so I aptly decided to make some warm gingerbread snowmen to complement the snow days. I picked this out of my favourite baking book but changed it slightly to suit. Three quarters teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda. 2 Teaspoons ground ginger. 2 Teaspoons ground cinnamon. Half teaspoon ground all spice. 125g soft light brown sugar. I cut...

Bringing it back…Black Forest Gateau | Cupcakes and Glitter

https://cupcakesandglitter.wordpress.com/2010/11/03/bringing-it-back-black-forest-gateau

Bringing it back…Black Forest Gateau. It seems to be that, generally speaking, Black Forest Gateau is regarded as being very 70’s and highly unfashionable. It’s one of those desserts that is always stocked in a supermarket freezer cabinet, all soggy cake and faux cream. Bleurgh. I tend to find that my first port of call when looking for classic recipes is the wonderful Delia Smith, in particular her Complete Cookery Course book. 5 oz/150g caster sugar. For the filling and topping. 2 oz/50g plain chocolate.

Sugar and spice, and all things nice… | Cupcakes and Glitter

https://cupcakesandglitter.wordpress.com/2010/11/12/sugar-and-spice

Sugar and spice, and all things nice…. Soooo, given that this blog is called Cupcakes and Glitter, I thought I had better get on with making some cupcakes with glitter! I was a bit bored this evening, and decided to dig out a recipe that I’ve had my eye on for a while now – Sticky toffee cupcakes with salted caramel frosting. And I’d like to think I did pretty well for a first attempt! Here’s the original recipe – I can’t wait to try it out! Sticky toffee cupcakes with salted cream caramel. Lastly, fold ...

Gluten-free baking *guest post* | Cupcakes and Glitter

https://cupcakesandglitter.wordpress.com/2010/10/27/gluten-free-baking-guest-post

Gluten-free baking *guest post*. Just to get a little introduction out of the way this is a ‘guest writer’ appearance by Rachel’s youngest brother, Andrew. I will be doing a guest post on the mysterious subject of gluten-free baking and will share with you some of my experiences about this little-explored subject. Fortunately, cake batters don’t. But one complaint about gluten-free baking is that it is hard to get that same texture and ‘mouthfeel’ that you can get with regular wheat flour. This trial bat...

Cupcakes and the City | Cupcakes and Glitter

https://cupcakesandglitter.wordpress.com/2010/10/15/29

Cupcakes and the City. My most recent batch of cupcakes were for the Rock My Wedding. Meet in London, last Friday, for any readers and sponsors. For those of you who don’t know, Rock My Wedding. Is literally the BEST. SITE. EVER. for anything wedding related. I follow it religiously! I thought I would be cheeky and ask if they would like any cupcakes for the event, and to my surprise they said yes! Cue much excitement, and then head scratching as I pondered what cupcakes to make! For the lemon cupcakes, ...

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy… | Cupcakes and Glitter

https://cupcakesandglitter.wordpress.com/2010/10/18/easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. 2 tins condensed milk, regular or light. 1 pint double cream. You will also need a 9″ springform tin. Crush the ginger biscuits finely (I put the biscuits in a bag and then bashed them with a rolling pin, but you could use a food processor. Not as good for stress relief, but a bit less messy! Melt the butter and stir in the crushed biscuits. Transfer this mixture to the tin and spread evenly over the base, pressing gently. And that’s it! Impressive results for minimal effort.

It’s December’s creepy uncle that comes out of nowhere and starts breakdancing at your wedding. You can’t fight it. You just have to watch it happen.
