We had been doing a banana bread tour of Perth (until her untimely departure to broader horizons in Sydney), but we always would compare the days offerings to our all-time favourite – the banana and chocolate bread at Sayers. Deliciously dense and buttery (we’d have to share a serving it was so rich! Recipe adapted from Epicurious. 1/2 cup brown sugar.

My favourite bakery, down in the Barcelonetta area (Baluard, if you are in Barcelona and get the chance check it out! Is selling these absolutely amazing fudge brownies, so I told myself: You can do that. 1/2 cup (115g) salted butter. 8 ounces (228g) coarsely chopped dessert chocolate. 3/4 cup (150g) white sugar.

Autumn is clearly coming, and the other day I just remembered something I used to have and love a lot: Mandelhoernchen aka almond horns. I had to have some. 200 g marzipan – raw. 100 g almond , grounded. 2 tsp lemon juice. 100 g icing sugar. 100 g almond shavings. 100 g chocolate couverture. A friend brought me a package of Dr Oetker Garant, it is basically a yeast mix to prepare yeast dough, from Germany so I only needed some plums. 3 cups / 375 g all purpose flour. 1 pck Dr Oetker Garant ( some kind of instant yeast dough mix). 1/4 cup / 50 g sugar. 1 pck vanilla sugar. 3/4 cups / 200 ml milk.
