Right where the Tigris and the Eufratees meets. It is said to have been the location of the Garden of Eden. To this day there's still a small park and an old tree said to be the "Tree of Knowledge". The first time, we got control of the entire area from Basra, to just south of Al Amarah. Mr Denmark's Hans Island Page. Wednesday, September 21, 2005. Hans Island has been liberated! The Danish patrol cutter HDMS Tulugaq has succesfully completed it's mission to Hans Island. But it's still not over! Denmark and Canada agreed to still disagree, when the Danish foreign minister Per Stig Møller met with the Canadian foreign minister Pierre Pettigrew under the UN's Generalasembly in New York. But the Danish foreign minister could confirm that the Canadian flag is now "blown" down.

It happened during Charles Francis Hall's third North Pole expedition.
