I have never let schooling interfere with my education." Mark Twain. Wednesday, June 17, 2009. Silence of the Lambs. Jonathan Demme’s purpose for this specific scene of Silence of the Lambs is to prove that adults are capable of being just as scared of monsters as the younger generations do. Of this is when Medea is talking about leaving the palace and the chorus asks, "Whom will you turn to? Where will you turn? What country, what stranger, what home for a haven? Who will receive you?
