Hemos decidido trasladarnos a un ryokan al borde del rio, porque la experiencia nos ha encantado y Takanawa cuenta con algunos muy antiguos y famosos. Hiroshima, como todas las ciudades japonesas, tiene un amplio barrio comercial alrededor de una calle cubierta llena de tiendas en el que hay también todo tipo de locales de comida, desde los más tradicionales a locales de comida basura americana. El jardín es realmente maravilloso, aunque aún está un poco retrasada la floración y debe ser aún más espectacular cuando los múltiples bulbos, cerezos y otros arboles florezcan: ahora solo los ciruelos están cuajados de capullos y algunos bulbos asoman entre las rocallas. En cambio no hay mucha gente, y podemos pasear tranquilamente.
