By Golly I'm in Mali. All of the views and opinions expressed in this blog are mine and do not reflect the opinions of the Peace Corps or the U.S. Government. Mango Madness and the Sweet Taste of Victory. Right now Mali is in the middle of hot season- also known as prime MANGO season! Recently I have been seeing women in my village carrying around big sticks, like 25 feet long! Hurry the mangos are ready! As we got closer I realized that the trees were also full of children! This week along with the swee...

By Golly I'm in Mali. All of the views and opinions expressed in this blog are mine and do not reflect the opinions of the Peace Corps or the U.S. Government. The month of November was chock full of celebrations, and reasons to party! The kids were most impressed with the markers- tubes of paint like liquid they could color with that didn’t need to be sharpened. The elders of school board were simply in awe of pencil top erasers, obviously the greatest invention ever! The same thing happened at the next ...

January Boredom, Pump, Projects, and Public Transportation. To the average person this may not sound very exciting, watching an old man pump water into a bucket, however to me it was exhilarating! 8221; Well water is bad! Every time I see him around village he always makes a comment about me thinking well water is bad and laughs-hysterically. You d...

I know this blog is supposed to be about Mali and my Peace Corps experience, but I recently took a vacation to Italy and it was amazing! So amazing that I want to tell you all about! A very long hour later we see a Peace Corps car round the bend to the airport entrance! With all the time changes, and flights, and lay overs, we ...

Just another WordPress.com site. Knitting adventures with Kool-aid and baby alpaca. Dyeing tutorial! September 8, 2011. Ok so I can NOT find a color way that I like and can afford so I’m making my own. I scored some amazingly soft single ply baby alpaca from Amazon for $5 per 150 yard skein… SCORE. It is DK weight which is a light worsted. I do usually recommend regular worsted or Aran weight for winter and more bullet proof longies but whatever… 🙂. Now its time to get out your crock pot! Now put your c...

By Golly I have a Blog
By Golly I have a Blog. Thursday, June 25, 2009. Where Did This Week Go? I have been mostly working on kids cards. Have lots of Birthdays coming up soon. Here are three of the July ones I made. Love the SU Cupcake image. I addad an extra candle for Sydney's card as she will we Two already. I made another Pink one, very similar to this one for a One year old too. This next one is much the same but for Cody who is having his first Birthday. I sure like the Nestabilitie dies for the framing of the image.

By Golly, Jim! Jueves, 9 de julio de 2009. Nueva cumbre del G8. Oye, que bien. Porque todas las cumbres anteriores de estos tipos han sido muy útiles, pero ésta, la que más. No hay más que ver los titulares de la BBC:. G8 set global warming targets. G8 leaders 'hopeful on economy'. G8 leaders set 'to conclude Doha'. G8 leaders to set emissions goals. 8230; y además nos van a regalar un Patek Phillipe. Ah, Patek Phillipe. De padres a pijos. Volviendo al tema… cumbre del G8. ¡Qué bien! The turtles, long-li...

By Golly I'm in Mali. All of the views and opinions expressed in this blog are mine and do not reflect the opinions of the Peace Corps or the U.S. Government. It is hard to believe that one year ago today, I left Africa. I left the life I knew and grew to love. I left Malian and American friends that I had learned so much from! I may not talk constantly about it like that commercial but I can honestly say that I talk about Mali every single day! And I’m sure I get really annoying to others! Peace Corps w...

Palmer cash, rad t-shirts. The hollywood dog magazine. Up country inc., toys. A paper perfect place. Five and a half. Hardback journals-a good place to start. Patience, young skywalker. Monday, August 10, 2015. The Best I-Love-You-Er Around! I have some pretty fantastic I-love-you-ers in my house. People who respond to my daily "I love you" with a clear and easily-heard "I love you, too.". Except for a certain 15-year-old boy. Sure he says "I love you" back to me. But it's more of a mumbled "uh muh ew" at best. Sometimes it's just "muh ew." Or just "muh.". And I love it when I pick him up from football practice, and I spot him from a distance - standing there. And with God being the ult...
