Edit mask window

Each field that PEEK displays on either of the two browsing screens may have an edit mask applied to it before being displayed. This mask will alter the appearance of the field in some way. To apply an edit mask, position the cursor on the field and press PF18 (or give the command 'MASK' or 'M'). The name of the field which is to have a mask applied. Position the cursor so that it is in the selection field adjacent to the format which you wish to select. Display a help screen.

Any field on the file can be displayed using an edit mask. Simply position the cursor on the field you wish to use and press PF18 (or give the M command). When the following window appears, select an edit mask from the list shown. Use PF18 (or the M. Command) to toggle the display between 'masks on' and 'masks off'.

This window allows you to specify a starting position within the current file access. It is available from the access screen, and both the single and multi record screens. When the key is a superdescriptor, each component is shown separately. If you enter a starting ISN, PEEK will build the starting value from the data stored in the specified record.
