The Interclub Series is a tournament running Thermal Duration and Precision Landing events between different clubs of the Ottawa, Gatineau and Montreal area. Historically run on TD/F3J inspired format, the Series is now entirely run on ALES rules since 2012. All kind of gliders have been flying since ALES was introduced: from low cost foams like the Radian, to high end moulds like the Aspire and homebuilts of all sorts. MATS have been sporting many of the gliders our members have built.

Season 2015 has started with the traditional Warm-Up event at MATS. Weather has been very benign to us and granted a good blend of delicate winds with strong thermals and a few gusty moments with more technical conditions. Pilots have come in from clubs all around Montreal like ORCC, C2VM, Les ailerons. There was a total of 16 pilots including a young fellow who participated to a competition for the first time. He flew with a Radian and did a rather good job with it. Way to go Peter! The day went by fast...

A new rudder XL for Omerta. An oversized fin and rudder has been manufactured for the latest Omerta ongoing fabrication. The rationale behind the creation of this beast is that we, so far, always needed some weight aft for balancing. In fact, even with the two servos installed back in the fin, we ended up with ALES ships rather nose heavy.
