Monday, July 20, 2015. Mum passed away last week. She was peaceful in the end, at home, and I was by her side. Around ’74 - ‘75 mum would have heard this track, and the album it comes from Last Days. Friday, October 17, 2014. Swinging back into motion here again after a very enjoyable holiday in Turkey. Barbara Lynn Ozen pumped out around 40 singles between the early ‘60s and late ‘70s and I love her. She is still very much active on the circuit too. Barbara is left handed. So am I. So is Mrs Darce – and I love her for real! Barbara Lynn – Oh Baby! We Got A Good Thing Goin'). A curious 45 this. The B side is billed as Lonely Heartache. But in fact plays Unfair. Barbara Lynn – Unfair. Just a music nut.

It is good to know that Ural is alive and well and, more than that, is in fact a current fixture on the Portland, Oregon music scene in the band Ural Thomas and The Pain (named after his 1967 single). Saturday, September 27, 2014. This is late era Jackie Day, a singer I should really get better acquainted with. This great track was, unbelievably, buried on the B side of a 1969 Speciality 45. This copy is a promo and the DJ or record company helpfully scribed on the label the exact day of release, or at least the day it landed in the DJ’s hot box: 13. The significance of 20-12-6? Saturday, August 30, 2014. The Stack O' Wax Jukebox. don't forget the B sides. If these singles had found their way onto a jukebox how many plays would the B sides have had I wonder? These two are perfectly suited for that late evening play though, just before the bar is shutting for the night, maybe entwined with your new girl, or there again maybe just staring into the bottom of your beer glass.
