A Page In Our Book. Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Back in December Grant had his first haircut. Matt had been asking me to cut his hair since his first birthday in June and I couldn't bring myself to do it! Those sweet blonde curls! How could I cut them? Truth is those curls required a lot of maintenance :) Lots of time with the brush and comb. Not your typical 18 month old's idea of fun. Most days those curls ended up looking like this. It's a big transition from baby to big boy! It grows fast too :).

A Page In Our Book. Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Welcome to Grant's corner of the den :). Then I read this. I, of course, followed her link to The Intelligent Nest post. And started reading all about the Montessori philosophy. I totally bought into it. Why did Montessori think that order was so important? I rotate them once a week and sometimes I'll keep new toys out for two weeks.I also keep a few toys in his room and sometimes I just rotate them from upstairs to down for the variety. We had a beautiful, sunny day to celebrate Grant's first birthday! My parents were so kind as to provide the party location.many of the birthdays in our family are in the summer so the lake just feels like the right place to have birthday parties! A Page In Our Book. Wednesday, January 8, 2014. A few days late…this poor blog. I'm going to keep writing when I can because I love having a record of what we've been up to! It has been frigid here. The ice has taken over. See exhibit A. It finally warmed up enough this weekend for us to get out and enjoy the snow :) Meg was visiting so we took advantage of the extra set of hands and headed up to Sugarbush for the day. Grant spent his time wandering around the lodge, loving every minute.

I still can't believe our bathrooms are actually finished. 2 bathrooms (small ones) and we had to move out for 2 months. They weren't done when we moved back in…we waited another 2 weeks for that and then another 2 weeks until the glass doors in our master shower were installed. We lived at my parents' camp. A Page In Our Book. Sunday, September 14, 2014. I've been absent…but it has been a busy summer. Among my excuses…. This guy turned 2 (! He's a busy one but his sweetness still melts my heart. We found out he's going to be a big brother….to a baby sister! She is expected to arrive Jan 6th :) We can't wait to meet her!
