An Eclectic Odyssey: November 2010
http://aneclecticodyssey.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 26, 2010. Whenever there's a holiday, we like to do things connected to the holiday whether it's reading books, watching movies or doing some type of art or science activity. It really gets us in the mood and excited about it. Last year we watched the Disney Squanto: A Warrior's Tale. For the first time. This year we watched it again, and it will probably turn into a yearly tradition. What fun Thanksgiving activities have you done this year? Links to this post. Thursday, November 25, 2010.

An Eclectic Odyssey: 4th of July
http://aneclecticodyssey.blogspot.com/2011/08/4th-of-july.html
Monday, August 29, 2011. Yes, once again in real time it's near the end of August and I'm pretty behind on this blog. Summer has been soooooo busy! Every year I think it won't be as busy and then it goes by so fast. But we still have almost three weeks left of summer, and I don't want it to be over too soon. I'm gonna do my best to post once a day til I'm caught up. You'd have thought it was Halloween with all the candy they threw out of the cars and floats. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). An Eclectic Odyssey: April 2011
http://aneclecticodyssey.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 19, 2011. We celebrated two birthdays in the weeks before our three week Las Vegas/San Diego trip, so it was a hectic, crazy time. Add to that me attending a two day In-Home (homeschooling )Conference. Where I met Sandra Dodd, Pat Farenga, David Albert and Cindy Gaddis (I'd highly recommend attending this conference if you live in the Chicago land area), well, it was an exhausting but inspiring time. They were all moving so fast from one ride to another that it was hard to keep up with them.

Saturday, October 30, 2010. Of course, they also love to check out the many souvineers he had from his travels, mainly to India. He has these wooden animal figures that have smaller animals inside them. But the biggest hit for Jared is always the dagger set from Pakistan. Grandad had an awesome idea to make paper airplanes to fly in the gym, so helped the kids fold them before heading downstairs. Links to this post. Day Out with Grammy Part 2. Monday, September 20, 2010. Laurel Falls Hike - Smoky Mountain Vacation. A 26 round trip hike to a 75 foot waterfall, seems like a beautiful hike, but at Smoky Mountain National Park in July and with two 4 year olds, it can be a bit stressful at times. I'm very glad we went, and we had an awesome time hiking down to the bottom of the falls where we avoided the crowds, but the journey there was hot, sweaty, and nerve-wracking. The kids favorite thing about this hike? Links to this post. Is the highest pea...

An Eclectic Odyssey: January 2011
http://aneclecticodyssey.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 29, 2011. We hadn't been to WonderWorks in Oak Park since the spring, so I was glad when my friend suggested meeting up there for a playdate. WonderWorks in the smallest children's museum we frequent, but it's nice because when the kids run off to different sections I don't have to worry as much - I'm only a few steps away. They played with my friend's son (2 years old) for a while in the dress-up area until Alexa said she wanted to do some art. Links to this post. I really don't rememb...

Having given you a bit of background on this child, imagine his delight when we received a package from Classical Academic Press containing. Both student and teacher texts, and a DVD and CD set which present the lessons and offer pronunciation help. He didn’t waste much time getting started. So, what did he think? He has really enjoyed stepping up to a formal Latin study. He has felt a l...

An Eclectic Odyssey: August 2010

Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Cades Cove - Smoky Mountain Vacation. It was a little trek from where our cabin was in Gatlinberg to Cades Cove. In the Smoky Mountains, but we really wanted to see this beautiful area of the mountains. It took us 45 minutes to reach the Cove, and we were there for about two hours. This deer was actually the only animal we saw, besides the wild turkeys running in front of our house. Along the side of the road, visitors to the area can see many original churches from the 1800's.

An Eclectic Odyssey: Weekend with the Family
http://aneclecticodyssey.blogspot.com/2011/07/weekend-with-family.html
Thursday, July 7, 2011. Weekend with the Family. The last weekend in June we had a wonderful visit with Steve's aunt and grandmother who came in from Missouri for a visit. We usually only see them once or twice a year, so it was a great treat. The next day we had Steve's aunt, grandmother, parents, and sister-in-law over to hang out and then order some pizza. We put out the pool for the kids. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What if you could grow up learning the things you were interested in? Welcome...
