Saturday, May 24, 2014. Weight Loss Surgery One Year Later. May 21, 2014 marked one year since I had weight loss surgery (gastric sleeve). I still think it was the best decision I ever made. Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Anyone who thinks having weight loss surgery is the easy out is 100 percent dead wrong. The reasons we eat don't magically go away. Emotional eating is still one of my problems. It was a problem before surgery and it's still a problem after surgery. Blogging, baking, reading and other activities help me avoid emotional eating. I also continue to visit the shrink I was seeing prior surgery. I didn't get to be morbidly obese because I just love food. View my complete profile.

Saturday, February 1, 2014. Struggling but not giving up. Anyone who has ever tried to lose weight knows that it's not easy or struggle free. I don't care how anyone goes about losing weight, on their own, with Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, weight loss surgery,etc, it is not easy and there is no magic pill. I will not go back to being over 400 lbs.I will reach my goal weight and continue to lose weight. I will make better food choices. I am not giving up no matter else comes my way.

Wednesday, February 12, 2014. When Aha Moments Aren't Enough. Did you ever have aha moment, epiphany, moment of clarity, etc. Whatever you call it, you know what I am talking about. I had my own aha moment last week. I realized that going back to bad eating habits, like eating to much sugar and carbs would lead me to gain weight, go back up in clothing size, bring back my sleep apnea and even high blood pressure. Was that enough to stop me from eating sugary muffins, donuts, candy, etc?
