Today’s global work environment can require researchers to access work at varying times of day from home, secondary offices, or even from other countries. CAC offers a secure and convenient way for users to take advantage of the lab’s tools and resources anytime, anywhere, with a secure portal that can be accessed using Java and a web browser. To get started using the Portal follow the sign-up procedure.

The Centre for Advanced Computing is located in a physically secure facility with multiple layers of security to prevent unauthorized access. Access-controlled entrances require the use of a badge for the locking mechanism and a pin to disable the intrusion alarms. An access control policy is posted in the secured zone and includes sign-in sheets for visitors, who are escorted at all times.

CAC now offers encrypted off-site tape backups, secured through use of encryption and managed by Oracle Key Manager. Here are some highlights of this new product. Dedicated encryption key management system. Hardened solution, FIPS compliant. Device-independent, operating system, and application-agnostic. Protects against both on-premise and off-site data loss.

Contact us via email to request the account deactivation. Contact the Principal Investigator to inform him/her about the deactivation. Alternatively, the Principal Investigator requests the deactivation. We will verify the deactivation with the Principal Investigator to make sure that no data of research interest are lost.
