Cheltenham and District Carers and Families is a voluntary organisation, independant from local authorities and all other national charities. We are a support group of families and carers in Cheltenham and surounding areas, who have children with special needs. We offer practical help, counselling and the opportunity to exchange information and offer mutual support. We hold regular coffee mornings with occasional guest speakers on a variety subjects, such as benefits and statementing.

How can counselling help me? Parents and Carers have little time to think of themselves whilst caring for special needs children or a disabled, sick and dependant relative. Counselling can give you an opportunity to be really listened to and deeply understood. So often the cared for person is being well looked after by professionals, but you may feel you need someone to talk to. Are you a Parent or Carer of a child who is ill or has special needs? Are you struggling with being a Parent and a Spouse?

Our activities run throughout the year. We organise events that are sometimes free, and at other times subsidised, in order to encourage as many people as possible to join in the fun. Some of the activities we offer are:. All our children love swimming, especially when we go to Cascades in Tewkesbury with the wave machine. Theme parks like Alton Towers and Thorpe Park are favourites with all the family, as are the trips to the seaside, Seven Springs.{mosimage}. Skating or rock climbing.
