milk dreams: April 2010

Thursday, April 29, 2010. Sarah's silks: imagination play. I'm really into simple "toys." I try not to over-stimulate Ruby with a lot of lights and noises in the things she plays with (for example, in her Jumperoo, I never turn on the music and lights) because I want her to interact and play with people. My philosophy on parenting is simple: laughter. Because you cannot take yourself too seriously in life, but especially in parenting. You’re going to make mistakes, so just laugh about them, learn from them, and move on. Laughter is good for the heart and soul. And it's contagious to your kids, too! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). milk dreams: urban milk

My mother is from a dairy farm in Minnesota. I went to high school in a mid-size town in Wisconsin. I have family and close friends who are mothers and fathers across the rural and suburban Midwest. I have seen enough to know that urban parenting is different…not necessarily easier or harder, but different. So don’t flee the city with your wee little loves! I can’t promise it’ll be easy, but let’s figure it out together. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The November 2009 milk dreams post entitled "raising a l...
