The Texas Epilepsy Foundation’s along with Café Texas families were instrumental in passing the Texas Compassionate Use Act (CBD) in spring 2015 and is very involved in the program going forward. Why Is This Important? Despite available treatments approximately one-third of people living with epilepsy suffer from uncontrolled or intractable seizures. Uncontrolled seizures can lead to disability, injury, and even death. People living with refractory seizures have reported beneficial effects and reduced seizure activity with the use of CBD oil.
