December 21, 2014. Since I visited Fontainebleau back in October my climbing has been a bit all over the place, I’m not used to not having a focus but I’ve been doing a bit of everything; training routes, training boulders, sport, bouldering, competitions… So now I’m ready to train routes again ready for my trip to El Chorro in February. Prepossanne Stand, 8A. Competitions have been pretty fun too; I attended the Bristol Bouldering Championships at Bloc Climbing Centre where I finished 3rd to strong clim...

The Process: Brian | Ellis Butler-Barker

April 1, 2015. Brian 8c . Photo by Tom Wright. I first tried the route in 2014 just before a trip to Rodellar back in June 2014 and I had around 4 sessions, I felt fairly comfortable on the route but when I went to Spain I came back feeling really weak on the route and didn’t put much time into the route. I knew it was back on and I’d get the Easter holidays to have a few days on it to try and redpoint the route. Part of Brian 8c . Photo by Tom Wright. My Journey to El Chorro and 100 8’s.

Cheddar Gorge Ascents | Ellis Butler-Barker
https://ellisbutlerbarker.wordpress.com/2015/05/21/cheddar-gorge-ascents
May 21, 2015. Sunset over Cheddar village. I’ve had some fun days out at Cheddar where I’ve mainly focussed on volume, some of more notable achievements however have been the first ascent of Fallingwater, 8c, my first couple of 8a onsights in the UK and my first proper headpoint ascent where I climbed Heaven-sent Direct, a scary and run out E7 6b. I was urged on by the huge crowd of public spectators which had no gathered by the road to watch and I topped out! Cheddar Gorge, Cheddar, Somerset BS27, UK.

My Journey to El Chorro and 100 8’s. February 19, 2015. After a great trip to El Chorro last year where I managed to get my first 8a onsight and my quickest 8b repeat I thought a short trip there this February would be a great idea to start the year off and quickstart my outdoor climbing for the year. Last year on Trango. Shark Attack came the next day on the first redpoint of the day and I have to say that this is one of my favourite route that I’ve ever done alongside Geminis in Rodellar! I tried to do...

Nathan Lee Climbing: The Lull and Pembroke
http://nathanleeclimbing.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-lull-and-pembroke.html
Saturday, 13 June 2015. The Lull and Pembroke. The past couple of months have represented something of a lull for me. With some pretty mediocre weather and mounting uni work I ended up having a few weeks off climbing, mainly running during the time I had out of the library. Perhaps most famous for the photo of Jules Deep Water Soloing it. Having done the route this is something I'd love to re-enact! Has been top of the trip-list for as long as I can remember, god I hope the weathers good.

Nathan Lee Climbing: September 2013

Tuesday, 24 September 2013. The red line of Unknown Stones on this Gritstone axehead. The traverse on Fear. Leaving the sanctuary of the foothold. You have to choose to continue. I think I'll finish with these thoughts. Why do I and some people obsess over these kind of routes? Thanks alot to Neil, Steve and the ever-patient Mike Hutton for waiting around on the day, belaying and helping me to dry the route! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
