I also realized this might be the first year in ten years that I'm not ridiculously depressed on New Year's Eve, and that was probably coloring my judgment of how the night would go. Les cailles de Chine

Caille de Chine ou Caille Peinte. La caille de Chine est présente de l'Inde jusque dans le sud-est de l'Australie. 5 à 8 ans en captivité. Il est très facile de différencier le mâle de la femelle. Le mâle porte un dessin noir et blanc bien marqué à la gorge, alors que la femelle ne possède pas ce dessin et elle est d'un plumage strié de couleur brune. Comme tout oiseau, la caille de chine aime la verdure sauvage (pissenlit, mouron blanc,.). Occasionnellement, on peut leur donner quelques vers de farine.
