We love our Taylor boy. He is a good sleeper just like Simon. He giggles happily when we put him in his crib or give him his blanket or talk about his blanket. He knows how to say, "Bye bye Daddy." And he says "bottle," "Mama," and "bitey." He also says his own little words and streams of sound and likes to end with the "p" sound. He recently learned "no" and also will hit at my leg and say, "don't.". So much growing has happened since around Easter time when the first of these pictures was taken. In a d...

Day Two of trip: Thanks to the Drummonds for a good night's rest in Chicago. We were charmed with them and their home (no pics! The family history tour continued with polish sausages in Chicago, where my dad grew up. We really enjoyed Chicago. It felt like we were in a movie. The Drummonds live right downtown, so the town homes are close together, and you can walk to eat or shop. Very cool. Got these cozy guys. See the pretty painted birds? More close together houses, driving around Milwaukee. We drove u...

Juli's Wallpaper Notes: Snow Days
http://julianaks.blogspot.com/2015/03/snow-days.html
Miraculous board game happiness. We did get snow and sleet and ice: a few doses of it too! There were days off of school and church. I had to take snow pictures because it's not so frequent here. Kyle stayed out probably two hours. He enjoys alone time. I suited up and played with him too. Sarah being a dog. A few different friends came over to play. I didn't get pictures of the Millers, but I got a few of the Lydas. Eating snow ice cream. These children are just lovely. They got along so well too. Chris...

My generous, vibrant, and talented friend Belize Kellerman took family photos for us in early November. The Old Main lawn on University of Arkansas campus was a great backdrop. I love the natural feel of the pictures she took. Wednesday, January 23, 2013. How do you feel about things this winter? Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I forgot I have been wanting to post this picture of Simon's block creation forever. And I wanted to tell you that Simon is left-handed :). Tuesday, June 05, 2012. Blogging has been a little sparse lately, and taking a cue from my friend Becca. I am going to do a series updating on each of the kids. I will start with Number 2. When I was pregnant with Simon, I got the feeling, "this is a special little guy." And I have spent just over four years figuring out why. People follow rules, "snack math" and rea...

Christmas Time in Arkansas. Being silly with Papa. We spent 10 days in Arkansas at Christmastime. Three generations of Sallings playing music, and Simon's first paying gig. The groupies were happy as long as they had steamers. I often reflect on how much easier it is to take all the kids somewhere than it used to be when they were so little! My longtime friend Raye. We met up for lunch at Tyson World Headquarters, where she works. I met her when I was a temp almost 15 years ago. And it was free! We start...

Homeschooling: At Home and Out and About. If you can't tell, the above picture is "Josie" in pecans. We went to the temple,. And Patrick found a neat neighborhood park close by that looked like it just grew out of open space there. He took the kids there while I went in to the temple, and then I decided to take them back while he went in. We began collecting these nuts, and we decided to spell words with them. Somebody stepped on one, and we discovered they were pecans! With me. One day it was Kyle, ...
