Chronicles of my semester abroad. Laquo; Sick Day. A Weekend in Cusco. Posted February 22, 2010 by caitlinobrien in Uncategorized. Nothing too exciting occurred this weekend, but I did carry my camera around with me and thought I would upload some pictures! Friday night started off my weekend as a large part of our group gathered at our new favorite local bar here called “Inkaria” and then headed over to some other local discotecs for some dancing. Part of the Group. Some live traiditonal andean music.

Chronicles of my semester abroad. Laquo; Huacaria (The Amazon Jungle! My last month in Cusco. Posted May 8, 2010 by caitlinobrien in Uncategorized. It’s been quite a while since I’ve last updated this blog about my life here in Peru and quite a bit has happened! But the results are way too long and probably boring for everyone else to put here.]. Some of the members of the band, Naypaq Pachatusan. I’ve really enjoyed just sort of living my own life within Cusco and feel like I really do know the city now.

Chronicles of my semester abroad. Laquo; My First Few Days…. Daily Life in Cusco…. What I’ve Been Eating…. Posted February 14, 2010 by caitlinobrien in Uncategorized. Apart from adjusting to a different language and culture, the food here has been quite the adjustment as well! Lunch is quite a different story. So much food is served at lunch here! Dinner is a little different here as well because it usually is not really eaten. A normal meal for dinner could consist of another cup of tea and some bre...

Chronicles of my semester abroad. Laquo; What I’ve Been Eating…. Daily Life in Cusco…. Posted February 14, 2010 by caitlinobrien in Uncategorized. After four days of orientation in Urubamba, I arrived in Cusco to live with my new family here and to start taking classes. So far I love my family and they have been so accepting of me, and patient with my Spanish! Part of my family and me at Khiras birthday party. As for classes, so far I am really enjoying them, even though they are quite difficult! After t...

Friday, April 30, 2010. Here it is. :). I need your response to Thoreau. Do you have it? It's time they learn this isn't high school and I'm not their babysitter. Perkins meanwhile has slouched so far down in his chair that his head and shoulders are barely visible to the other students who might dare to glance his way. A thought passes through the room, though no one knows the others are thinking the same thing;. Something has to be done! Accidents happen all the time, right? Through the high windows, b...

Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Tomie de Paola Award 2013. Feels like just yesterday that I was painting my entry for the Tomie dePaola Award for the SCBWI. But, alas, another year has flown by! This year the idea was to choose from 3 classic titles and execute a passage in black and white. I was particularly more excited about this year's subject matter than last, and chose "The Yearling" by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. Labels: black and white. Saturday, April 21, 2012. And Through the Looking Glass. Shame o...

Saturday, 16 August 2014. Well I wasn't sure what to do for my first post but the other day I was looking through one of my old blogs and I found this poem that I wrote a couple years ago (I used to write heaps of poems). A teardrop drips upon the lake. Movement with such force. Can only come from the empowering soul. In it's fight for justice. What do you think this poem's title should be? Wednesday, 13 August 2014. Well I just started this blog today but I have done blogging in the past as well.

I wanted movement and not a calm course of existence. I wanted excitement and danger and the chance to sacrifice myself for my love. I felt in myself a superabundance of energy which found no outlet in our quiet life. – Leo Tolstoy. November 16, 2014. How do you write a wrap-up post to a story that doesn’t really have an end? I have been out of Cameron for how long now? Actress exits stage left…will she return? Well so be it, I never wanted to live a boring life anyway. September 3, 2014. June 29, 2014.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010. And all that jazz. I finally got around to downloading all the photos from the time that my mom was here, plus the photos that my host parents took.
