Learning to live outside the bubble | A Leap of Faith

https://caitlinsmithleap.wordpress.com/2013/02/26/learning-to-live-outside-the-bubble

A Leap of Faith. February 26, 2013. Learning to live outside the bubble. I wasn’t anticipating having to re-adjust to normal life, but am enjoying the process. Laquo; 10795 minutes of being alone. For friendship | A Leap of Faith

https://caitlinsmithleap.wordpress.com/2013/03/01/for-friendship

A Leap of Faith. March 1, 2013. There will always be things about the west that I find lacking in DC – people’s attitudes, the stunning beauty and plethora of truly adventurous outdoorsy activities. But, for the next year and a half until I go back to school, I want to be able to enjoy the incredible friendships I have already built, instead of having to pour tons of time into forming new ones. 8221; Next fall, I will go back to school for that, but I am still struggling with what I can do between now an...

A Leap of Faith. February 7, 2013. 48 hours and counting. Maybe I this isn’t really as bad I think it is. But, always, at some point during my 14-hour work day, reality hits. I hate my job. Despise it, with a passion. I spend most of my 14 hour days splitting my energy between the task before me and quieting the voice in the back of my head that wants to vocalize some version of “I don’t care! 8221; or “i can’t stand this” or “get me out of here! How do we play this game?: 2013-01-06

http://www.danburd.com/2013/01/2013-01-06.html

How do we play this game? Just a list of things that happens to me from day to day. January 6, 2013. Okay, it took me awhile to finish those Japan entries. What have I been up to in the nine months since getting back? I've been doing a lot of things with my girlfriend, who, out of concerns about privacy, did not want her name or photo published. I've managed to assemble a list of our activities without divulging her name or likeness. In April we went on a lovely White House garden tour:. With the Japan a...

Which meant my phone could tell me which combination of trains to take to arrive at a destination. This was invaluable because I would have otherwise had no idea where I was going. (Washington, sadly, is the only major US city not to cooperate with Google Transit.). 8221; and Picasso’s “ Young Ladies of Avignon. After I grew weary of the crowds and had se...

How do we play this game? Just a list of things that happens to me from day to day. February 24, 2009. I went to Boulder, Colorado to visit my friend Ben, who used to go to GW but transferred to CU-Boulder after sophomore year. He showed me around town, we went hiking and hung out with his friends, and I visited the zoo in Denver when he had to go to work on Sunday. So, thanks to Ben for putting me up at his place and showing me a good weekend. Pearl Street in downtown Boulder. Justin's Fast Food Examiner.

Apparently, the other stars at the ceremony included Vice President Cheney and Secretaries Rumsfeld and Rice, but I didn't see any of them because they had been sitting down on the stage and we didn't have a high enough vantage point to see them. How do we play this game? Just a list of things that happens to me from day to day. March 31, 2012. My return trip to Washington was uneventful. I got to the airport with plenty of time to spare, and had an unremarkable layover in Toronto, which was actually my first time in Canada. I had an amazing time in Japan. The places I visited and the experiences I made will stay with me forever. There are just so many unforgettable sights, sounds, and tastes that I managed to cram into two weeks.

How do we play this game? Just a list of things that happens to me from day to day. March 30, 2012. Ushiku is a small town but it does have one big attraction: the Ushiku Daibutsu. It’s a statue of Buddha that is twice as tall as the Statue of Liberty. It is enormous. The statue was completed in 1993; my guess it was planned in the late 1980’s, when Japan was flush with economic success and could fund huge projects like this one. And is this ever huge. And I even saw a Wallaby! We enjoyed lunch at a trad...

How do we play this game? Just a list of things that happens to me from day to day. March 29, 2012. Along the walk in Mari’s neighborhood, we saw a couple of local landmarks:. This is the Tokyo Skytree, which opens to the public in a couple of months. It’s one of the tallest structures in the world. It’s basically a radio and TV broadcast tower with an observation deck. How do we play this game? Just a list of things that happens to me from day to day. October 23, 2011. Last weekend I traveled to New Orleans to visit my friend Eliot and to see the city before he moves back to Philadelphia next month. I planned the trip with my friend Robert, who came down to New Orleans from Philadelphia on the same weekend. So Eliot lived about 30 minutes of “bump. bump. bump.” away from the city. The three of us and Eliot’s roommate, Wei, spent most of the day on Saturday in New...

How do we play this game? Just a list of things that happens to me from day to day. September 17, 2010. I found Justin's class - he welcomed me in, briefly introduced me to the class, and continued teaching math to his sixth graders while I sat in back and watched. Fortunately for him, he only teaches math, and only to sixth graders, which keeps the lesson planning to a minimum. Justin finishing some work before we leave. If Justin were a student, he'd have run through all of these already. Onto 12th Ave...

How do we play this game? Just a list of things that happens to me from day to day. September 12, 2011. A significant attraction in Savannah is River Street, which is a group of touristy shops along the Savannah River. The shops weren’t really notable in themselves but each had their own individual walkway, which is an iconic and memorable image of Savannah. This and other images of Savannah are replicated almost exactly in the video game Left For Dead 2. I recommend looking at my other pictures. Another...

Also Hosen, Shirts, Westen, Pullover – sowas. Keine Unterwäsche, keine Nachtwäsche, keinen Skianzug und erst recht keine Socken :-). Ich werde berichten :). Wenn nicht hier, dann zumindest auf Instagram. Dazu hat...

Sunday, January 17, 2010. Pop consumtion in other countries. As an experienced pop drinking, I must say that pop is quite delicious and addictive. Of course it is true that there are a lot of calories and sugar in each can/bottle, but the taste does quench my thirst. The question being, how much harm could a small bottle cause? Not necessarily, but it might remind people of the negative affects of pop. These popular beverages account for more than a quarter of all drinks consumed in the United States.

She's still tall for her age and finally is above the 10th percentile in weight although she has hardly gained anything I guess that's just how the curve goes.
