26 miles later… | Cait Strides

https://caitstrides.com/2011/09/27/26mileslater

26 miles later…. I’ve always been unconventional. This includes my running philosophy. After that, I poured a little more time and effort into training. I joined my middle school track and cross country teams and ran my fastest mile ever: 6:41. But I fell off the wagon once I got to high school. I focused more on organized sports (ie. soccer and basketball) because of the team atmosphere. It was an easy way to make friends, something I needed due to the fact that my family moved multiple times. I knew yo...

All posts in category running. The Marine Corps Marathon. Oh, hi blogging world! It’s been awhile. I would explain my hiatus, but who cares? I did something pretty awesome this weekend. I outran a hurricane. No joke! To beat Oprah. I was hopeful, but anxious. Volunteered to accompany me to the starting line. Still dark, so early! I ran the first 10k in 1:02:09, exactly a 10:00/mile pace. Miles 17-19 were awesome because we ran along the National Mall. This was where my legs started to feel heavy, so ...

The life and times of a picky eater | Cait Strides

https://caitstrides.com/2011/09/23/the-life-and-times-of-a-picky-eater

The life and times of a picky eater. Let’s talk about food. If you know anything about me. You know I’m an extremely picky eater. For the most part, people don’t believe me when I try to explain just how picky I really am. To give some perspective, here’s a selection of foods that I have been eating for 2 years or less. You may be asking yourself, but what the heck did you eat? Well, that’s easy: PIZZA! And lots of it! Overload, but I’m actually not that picky…if you can even believe that. I have to get ...

I am a very literal interpreter of birthdays. I truly think they are about celebrating a persons existence on earth. We celebrate each year that we are here and how wonderful that is. I can happily say I’ve been here 25 wonderful years today and I can’t wait for many many more. And in the mean time listen to this awesome song. Brooklyn Winery Wine Bar.

Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Badaboom Badabing Fabric Artwork! The Mego Cave is officially under way! Wondering what the heck a Mego Cave is? Well, it started during Design Night a few weeks ago. Eric and I were having our Saturday date night in front of HGTV watching Design Night. Seriously, call us lame, but it is a favorite for us. So the new and delightful show. Was playing. Cait Stuff's Smart Stuff | Reflections on Art, Books, & Life

Cait Stuff's Smart Stuff. Reflections on Art, Books, and Life. April 9, 2015. I’ve been doing a lot of online historical research recently. I am left with a bunch of questions I have not yet found quick answers for. So I am posting them here, both as a reference to myself for later, and on the off chance that someone might just happen to know one of the answers and supply it. Any historical fiction that covers this category? In terms of housing, where would these residents have lived? Private school info...
