Graphic Design and Illustration Blog. RYDER CUP: TEAM EUROPE. Posted in Graphic Design. So in the aftermath of this years Ryder Cup, the main headlines are still dominated by the controversy surrounding ‘that press conference’, which we illustrated in our last post. This illustration started as a doodle I did of Jamie Donaldson while on the phone. I thought having the 13 mugshots would make a cool wall print, so if anyone has any interest in having it as a print we might make it so. Enter your email addr...

The View from Ivory's Tower: April 2012
http://john-ivory.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
The View from Ivory's Tower. Thursday, April 26, 2012. As I’m sure I’ve mentioned (ad nauseum, I hear you say! I’m taking part in a year-long photographic project called ’52 of 2012’. The idea is to take a theme-based photo each week during 2012. A few weeks ago the given theme was ‘Old, Abandoned, Decaying’. This came home to me especially during the ‘Old, Abandoned, Decaying’ week. What kind of people were they? What were the circumstances which led to these homes being abandoned? I motored on and marv...

The View from Ivory's Tower: Z is for Zenith
http://john-ivory.blogspot.com/2013/04/z-is-for-zenith.html
The View from Ivory's Tower. Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Z is for Zenith. How often do we come across a word that in one sense sounds 'difficult' yet can have quite a simple meaning behind it? It is a love song, a terribly sad love song:. I was dreaming of my love,. With her hair tied up above,. That fair face that lights my soul. She must have stolen it from an angel. We were dancing by the sea,. Said how she'd been missing me,. The sweetness of a song set free,. A song sung over and over and over. Lovely ...

http://warmsnugfat.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, 25 July 2013. Head chef, Ian Daly is in charge of the kitchen, where the freshest available seafood direct from local sources feature on the menus, with daily specials as you would expect from a restaurant specializing in seafood. They have a well priced set à la carte dinner menu for €31.50. Having sipped some prosecco with some 'gal pals' at the launch of the lovely new look 'Il Folletto' (I know, it's a tough life, right? The mains were all beautifully presented in good size portions. Ha...

Warm&Snug&Fat: Holiday Tapas
http://warmsnugfat.blogspot.com/2012/08/am-off-for-my-holidays-week-in-spain-to.html
Friday, 17 August 2012. I am off for my holidays - a week in Spain to cure me of the respiratory illnesses I am in danger of developing from the wettest summer in Ireland ever. To celebrate, here are two recipes of my favorite Spanish snack - Patatas Bravas or more particularly for the sauce. One is from Cava. A very excellent restaurant in Galway that specialises in Spanish tapas with an Irish twist. The other is from a blog I love, The Winter Guest. 400g crushed or pureed tomatoes. 1 tsp sherry vinegar.

Warm&Snug&Fat: a matter of taste...
http://warmsnugfat.blogspot.com/2014/02/a-matter-of-taste.html
Thursday, 13 February 2014. A matter of taste. Loughrea, charming lakeside town or the last outpost of civilization before you reach the dangerous 'midlands', a place similar to Middle Earth inhabited by orcs, elves and dwarves. You'd be well advised to play it safe and stay inside of our county borders, and if you do, it is quite possible to dine well in Loughrea. Most of the dishes are born of careful shopping, the seafood chowder and winter salad especially are won or lost with their ingredients. ...
