KnitOne,PearlOnion: Fish Tacos
http://knitonepearlonion.blogspot.com/2015/06/fish-tacos.html
Creating memories one StiTcH, one sTiR, one StOrY at a time. Thursday, June 4, 2015. A few turns ago when it was my turn to cook, I decided to make Fish and Chips. What’s that you say? You don’t recall reading about Fish and Chips? Well, there is a good reason for that. It was a colossal disaster. Apparently, you can’t bake a batter that’s meant to be fried. For as skilled as I am with the culinary arts, that little detail evaded me. Now I know and I will never make that mistake again. 2 cups club soda.

KnitOne,PearlOnion: Yarn Potholder
http://knitonepearlonion.blogspot.com/2013/03/yarn-potholder.html
Creating memories one StiTcH, one sTiR, one StOrY at a time. Sunday, March 3, 2013. I often wonder what I should do with the bits of yarn I have left over after a project. Some people make fanciful and colorful shawls or scarves out of the surplus but that sounds like another project to me and we all know about my attention span when it comes to large knitting projects. Although, I am doing great in sock class and will post “progress” photos in a week or so. He weaving loom comes home with me. When you g...

KnitOne,PearlOnion: February 2015

Creating memories one StiTcH, one sTiR, one StOrY at a time. Sunday, February 22, 2015. Lasagna with Spicy Roasted Cauliflower. Before I share an incredible recipe, let me first tell you a story. So I had to do the thing most of us absolutely dread…call Customer Service. The automated attendant told me my wait time was “less than four minutes.” That information was helpful. Seriously, this is what she said! 8220;We don’t have your email address on file.”. After I composed myself) “Really? At that point I...

KnitOne,PearlOnion: July 2015
http://knitonepearlonion.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Creating memories one StiTcH, one sTiR, one StOrY at a time. Saturday, July 4, 2015. Since both Older Daughter and new Son-in-Law work at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, it seemed only fitting to post this on the 4th of July! Back in early 2014, Older Daughter’s boyfriend asked me if he could marry her. Of course, I said yes (actually, I screeched with delight) and in May of 2014 the happy couple became engaged. A story about the caterer….back in 2013 when I working with North...In Apri...

KnitOne,PearlOnion: Quinoa Avocado Salad

Creating memories one StiTcH, one sTiR, one StOrY at a time. Sunday, August 2, 2015. To accommodate vacations, weekend getaways and other general frolicking, Dinner Club seems to have taken an spontaneous sabbatical. This is not that unusual given our schedules that seem to become even more challenging during the get-me-out-of-dodge summer months. I have exciting news to share…I bought a house at the shore, Ocean City, NJ (a long-awaited item on my bucket list! D, who is a sales rep, donated some very ni...

Creating memories one StiTcH, one sTiR, one StOrY at a time. Sunday, June 7, 2015. So, I think my fellow dinner mates have renewed confidence in my ability to prepare an edible meal following the Fish and Chips debacle, which, of course, you didn’t read about but I told you about in my Fish Taco. We should admit our mistakes, right? Looks scrumptious and also easy to make. I'll make it and post the recipe this summer. I miss working with her every day. Dinner mates seemed to like it as well. 4 garlic clo...

KnitOne,PearlOnion: Happy 5th of July!
http://knitonepearlonion.blogspot.com/2010/07/happy-5th-of-july_05.html
Creating memories one StiTcH, one sTiR, one StOrY at a time. Monday, July 5, 2010. Happy 5th of July! I often wondered about the origin of the word picnic. Allabouthistory.com reports that it is derived from the French word, piquenique, which means an outing with food. At French piqueniques, attendees would all bring their favorite food to the outdoor party, just like the picnics we enjoy today…so now I know and so do you! For the cookout I attended yesterday, I made a salad called. 1 Bag of cole slaw mix.
