It's the best and worst idea I've had: Oregon Duckies
http://aliciamtemple.blogspot.com/2011/01/oregon-duckies.html
It's the best and worst idea I've had. Monday, January 10, 2011. Just a normal Monday night- obsessively watching college football? It not quite my usual routine, but I loved it! I was more into watching this game than maybe any sports game ever. It was fun! Hanging in Clackamas, with the fam, cheering on Oregon towards a national chamionship. Ok, maybe they didn't win. But it was a great night! And I'll stand by my Ducks :) Who knew I could like football so much! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

It's the best and worst idea I've had: June 2010
http://aliciamtemple.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
It's the best and worst idea I've had. Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Checking Things Off the List. I made a list of things to do before leaving Vietnam. It is surprisingly not very long; turns out I've done most of things I've thought of as I've thought of them which is a fact I'm pretty proud of. But there was one very important thing that I've somehow missed doing: getting my hair washed. I know it sounds random, but it is the stereotypical Vietnamese woman's luxury. Long day at work? Saturday, June 26, 2010.

It's the best and worst idea I've had: April 2010
http://aliciamtemple.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
It's the best and worst idea I've had. Thursday, April 29, 2010. But We Thought You Were Old! I kind of forgot that the students here would "know" me when Calah and I arrived. I'm not sure how I forgot it, I remembered that I knew all about them from their applications and many inquiry emails. And I was the one who had sent them their "congratulations, you get to attend SOP" emails, and many, many others after that with. Its a great little treat! I have got out my iPod with the intention of listening to ...

That didn't actually occur on the day of Halloween, I'm back into election mode. Its eventful, thats for sure! I have been listening to the cd non-stop for 3 days now. What can I say, I'm obsessed! Friday, October 29, 2010. Listen to me, please! There are only 4 days until the election! Thursday, October 21, 2010. Again, my life seem...

When I was in 'Nam...: We interrupt this series to bring you something totally random
http://hannahforsythe.blogspot.com/2010/06/we-interrupt-this-series-to-bring-you.html
When I was in 'Nam. Tuesday, 22 June 2010. We interrupt this series to bring you something totally random. Thinking about all the people/places/things I'm going to miss from Vietnam made me really depressed. So I decided to cheer myself up by thinking about one of the most ubiquitously available sources of joy and happiness: random words. One of the best sources of random words is, of course, the good ole' American boy Daniel Webster. And a large picture of my head. The answer is: comment on this blog.

When I was in 'Nam...: March 2010
http://hannahforsythe.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
When I was in 'Nam. Wednesday, 31 March 2010. You know you've lived in Hanoi too long if. I have lived in Hanoi for 1 year, 7 months, and 2 weeks. And though I am far from being "just like a Vietnamese person" as many people attempt to praise me, I nevertheless have reached a degree of assimilation. Here are some of the indications that you've lived in Hanoi long enough for things to sink in:. You can cross a shoe checkpoint without even breaking stride. The Lake" means Hoàn Kiếm Lake. Lê Quảng Hà was bo...

When I was in 'Nam...: Things I'm Going to Miss: My Host Family
http://hannahforsythe.blogspot.com/2010/06/things-im-going-to-miss-my-host-family.html
When I was in 'Nam. Tuesday, 15 June 2010. Things I'm Going to Miss: My Host Family. The time is fast approaching when I must return to the motherland. And like many people who absolutely detest change, I don't like to think about it. So before I think about what lies ahead, let's think some about what lies in the here and now. Let's think about all the people, places, and things that have brought me so much happiness here. Let's start with people. Em Hiếu and anh Tám at Cafe Mobilette. Bác Huỳnh is very...

When I was in 'Nam. Thursday, 21 May 2009. Adventures in TV Stardom. Everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame, but in Vietnam, if you are a foreigner who speaks Vietnamese, you can have a whole hour of it Tuesday night at 8:05. Yes, I have now made my debut on Hanoi TV Channel 1's " Tuesday Night Talk Show. In case the name isn't clear, "Tuesday Night Talk Show" is a talk show that airs on Tuesday night. The general premise is, get 10 young foreigners. Your most embarrassing moment. And at the end we danced.

When I was in 'Nam...: May 2010
http://hannahforsythe.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
When I was in 'Nam. Thursday, 20 May 2010. Things that are making me happy today. I have been accused of being a blog perfectionist. And I was challenged to write an impromptu post about things that make me happy. No prior preparation. No camera on hand. Just old photos, the internet, and my wits. Books: There should be a law against reading more than one brain-bending book at a time because of the following principle that I have discovered:. But a happy one). I am cleaner, greener, AND faster than you!

When I was in 'Nam...: Things I'm going to miss: What-in-the-world moments
http://hannahforsythe.blogspot.com/2010/06/things-im-going-to-miss-what-in-world.html
When I was in 'Nam. Friday, 25 June 2010. Things I'm going to miss: What-in-the-world moments. Or when your extended host family offers you raw pork blood at a party. Or when you first realize that if it ever became necessary, you could indeed buy live bunnies and snakes by the side of the road. Or pussycats. With a regular supply of such moments, I've become rather addicted, and I predict serious withdrawal when I return to the States. I made a facebook album, "Visual metaphors for culture shock". I am ...
