Calamity Teacher: Planning backwards
http://www.calamityteacher.blogspot.com/2015/07/planning-backwards.html
Tuesday, 7 July 2015. I read this blog post. This week, and I thought about one of the major points, that is, planning backwards from A-level. In September, I am going to be Lead Teacher of English at a new school where I am the only English teacher (Department nights out are going to be wild (or, alternatively, just me, in the pub, on my own, crying, into a half drunk pint of absinthe.). Able to Find Perspective. Good, let's begin. And what does that mean? I would think that for most schools success mea...

Tuesday, 2 June 2015. It is a central responsibility as teachers to be carers. One of my students asked me once to adopt her and I’m not entirely sure she was kidding. But how can I care for others when I can’t guarantee that I can care for myself? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Inspire me, I dare you. Just not a very good one. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Awesome Inc. template. Powered by Blogger.
Calamity Teacher: There will be a story there.
http://www.calamityteacher.blogspot.com/2015/07/there-will-be-story-there.html
Tuesday, 21 July 2015. There will be a story there. I have always assumed that the birth of a school followed a secular immaculate conception. That schools just sprang up, or had always been there. I find it hard, still, to work out where one finds the space to place a fully formed school in a town, or village, or extra-urban part of Hounslow. And his, most wonderful of answers? We're going to change education.'. Is it the version of you that you want to be? I Love This Job. 27 July 2015 at 02:22.

Guided Reading Tools (for the organized teacher)! July 28, 2015. I Love Labels (Don't You? Now that I do 99% of my teaching in small groups AND now that I got rid of my teacher desk, I found it even more crucial that I had an organized way to keep my guided reading tools within reach at all times. It took some trial and error, but I have found that these tools in my Teacher Time/Guided Reading crate help me meet the needs of all my learners during their time with me. So what’s inside? 10 things you might...

10 things you might not have realised about the new Primary Maths curriculum. August 10, 2015. Ramblings of a Teacher. Having produced a list of key changes for Primary English aimed at secondary English teachers. I thought it was worthwhile creating a similar list for Maths. It strikes me that the maths changes have been more widely publicised (perhaps because they’re easier for the press to understand), but there may be one or two things here that have slipped people’s attention.
