Up to Friday gone we were probably as dry in the fairways as we'd been for a few years, that changed on Friday evening and all of a sudden July looks pretty average now. Cold again too boot! But enough about the weather. Course work has continued pretty much unimpeded, as has the feeding of these it would seem. The 2nd from 1st rough. The 2nd from both sides now. Thursday, 18 July 2013. Caldy Blog July 16th 2013. Once the Quart is passed we will be cutting some of the harder rough back, some of which hasn't been cut for 3 years, and some of the less strategic areas have been started whilst this weather is so favourable. Last, but requiring some consideration is the bridge crossing on 10, which we provisionally repaired for the Centenary. The timbers are rotting and will need addressing within the next year or two. Thursday, 5 December 2013. The autumnal work continues, with HOC's being slowly raised as the seed germination kicked off. The tees and surrounds have been raised to 12mm, the fairways 13mm, but growth really dropped off after our first cold snap. Didn't stop though. Drain by the Donga. Wednesday, 31 October 2012. Hedge and kerbs removed. Time again to update you on our course progress since our last post on October 11th. Weather has in general continued to be fairly disruptive, last week being the exception, but it wasn't really windy enough to dry surfaces. The unsettled element has again returned and we have spent some time this week sanding traffic areas with sand removed from bunkers being renovated left of the 10th green.
