Wild Forces ~ The blue depth of the sky
http://www.calebchatfield.blogspot.com/2014/07/wild-forces.html
The blue depth of the sky. Welcome to the personal pages. This blog, collates and gives range to Caleb's interests and opinions. Saturday, 26 July 2014. At plights' zenith you scorch the sky. And paint it sated in your calm. The clouds afflicted by your sigh. The gentle rolling of your psalm. For that I love your midday smile. And cower not in furies' shade. But bask touched by passions wile. To live before warm ardours fade. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Run like the Wind/Tabula Rasa. I have worri...
Sidhe’s Love ~ The blue depth of the sky
http://www.calebchatfield.blogspot.com/2014/08/sidhes-love.html
The blue depth of the sky. Welcome to the personal pages. This blog, collates and gives range to Caleb's interests and opinions. Monday, 4 August 2014. Amour through fae lit dark, a sweet pretence. Where tender notes flutter amidst the breeze. Her spoor’s enchant to coax frail innocence. Invite Sidhe wiles to lure and willing seize. So pursue wild freedom and sate desire. Relish the dance, caper with candour’s flame. Cede prescience and bask in nymphs shy pyre. Extol the chase, the certainty of shame.
Wonder ~ The blue depth of the sky
http://www.calebchatfield.blogspot.com/2014/07/wonder.html
The blue depth of the sky. Welcome to the personal pages. This blog, collates and gives range to Caleb's interests and opinions. Friday, 25 July 2014. Footfalls of broken men,. Once built a lauded state. Upon the callous brown. Start stones on lovers' tryst. Growing from the murky feet. A grandeur swallows all. So piercing is it's gaze. Commanding, it stands tall. It throws it's mighty fist. Over the quarries' scar. And keeps the fetters down. Those shackles reaching far. Run like the Wind/Tabula Rasa.
Sailing to Byzantium ~ The blue depth of the sky

The blue depth of the sky. Welcome to the personal pages. This blog, collates and gives range to Caleb's interests and opinions. Friday, 29 August 2014. Maybe Yeats was correct in his thinking but as a young man I still cling to the natural, my flesh and blood. I still live in this country of young men, I still ache for glories and passions yet to live. Some part of me hopes I don't lose these urges - I fight for the dying animal, not for the perfection of cold design. Whatever is begotten, born, and dies.
Mourning Songs ~ The blue depth of the sky
http://www.calebchatfield.blogspot.com/2014/07/mourning-songs.html
The blue depth of the sky. Welcome to the personal pages. This blog, collates and gives range to Caleb's interests and opinions. Thursday, 24 July 2014. Lately the sound' of the mourning. Amidst wreckage groans "ever-war". Not an errant thought to stop. Certain to sight its mordant maw. Re-lance the seething boil of Man. Never learn, never make time;. To sing it right and fair and free. The music here- lamenting thee. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Run like the Wind/Tabula Rasa. I have worried a lot...

Legend In My Mind: Depression and all that jazz
http://legend-in-my-own-mind.blogspot.com/2008/11/depression-and-all-that-jazz.html
Legend In My Mind. To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift" - Steve Prefontaine. Friday, November 21, 2008. Depression and all that jazz. One reason I run, do yoga, pilates and lift a few weights is to escape depression. I firmly believe that if I take care of my body my mind will follow. I'm told that we're in the midst of the worse financial crisis since the Great Depression that my dad experienced in the 30s. Maybe I'll lose my job and have to run for a living? Kansas farm life w...

Legend In My Mind: August 2007
http://legend-in-my-own-mind.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Legend In My Mind. To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift" - Steve Prefontaine. Friday, August 31, 2007. Hoping someday I'll return to the trails where my tough friends dwell so I can tell them about my setback if they want to listen, and they usually do want to hear from a fellow runner. I suppose it's just one of the responsibilities of running that brings runners together for sometimes brief and occasionally lengthy chats. Tuesday, August 28, 2007. CES also offers a speedwork se...

Legend In My Mind: December 2007
http://legend-in-my-own-mind.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Legend In My Mind. To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift" - Steve Prefontaine. Monday, December 17, 2007. Reuters, the news company I work for, asked me to write a personal account of my experience this year concerning my heart attack and my return to the living. This piece ran globally on Sunday. The "witness" stories are usually reserved for some Reuters correspondent who has witnessed first hand a battle in a war zone, a devastating tornado or a hurricane. I hope to see you on ...

Legend In My Mind: September 2007
http://legend-in-my-own-mind.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Legend In My Mind. To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift" - Steve Prefontaine. Saturday, September 29, 2007. I realize this isn't quite as exciting as telling you about a grueling 20 mile long run in the heat and humidity with biting horse flies nipping at my heels, but this is the best I can do at this point. But, I'm alive. Life is short, enjoy! Tuesday, September 25, 2007. The past several days have been pretty enjoyable considering the spot I've been in since early August.

Legend In My Mind: Isn't It Amazing
http://legend-in-my-own-mind.blogspot.com/2009/02/isnt-it-amazing.html
Legend In My Mind. To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift" - Steve Prefontaine. Wednesday, February 04, 2009. Isn't it amazing how short a mile is when you're in shape and how long a block is when you have diarrhea? So true. So true. :). I laughed so hard I practically choked on my drink! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Windy City, Midwest, United States. Thas me in the white hat wit my friend Larry. We ran a marathon once in San Diego, California and boy was it hard work!

Legend In My Mind: Staying In Shape
http://legend-in-my-own-mind.blogspot.com/2009/02/staying-in-shape.html
Legend In My Mind. To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift" - Steve Prefontaine. Sunday, February 01, 2009. Staying in shape, or at least keeping from falling apart is quite a challenge for me in the winter, especially this winter. I vowed to keep running through the winter but I have to confess I wimped out in January with the single digit readings and below zero wind chills here in the windy city. I just can't get into running all bundled up like a damned Santa Claus. Weights have...

Legend In My Mind: Struggling!
http://legend-in-my-own-mind.blogspot.com/2008/06/struggling.html
Legend In My Mind. To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift" - Steve Prefontaine. Sunday, June 22, 2008. Ran or tried to do something resembling running this morning in the Miles For Malawi 5k race in Lincoln Park. It was a nice morning but I struggled worse than I did last Sunday so I'm getting pretty discouraged and frustrated. I keep thinking that if I stay with it I'll get a breakthrough someday but it's just not happening. I hope your runs and training are going much better.

Legend In My Mind: Just Thinking
http://legend-in-my-own-mind.blogspot.com/2008/10/just-thinking.html
Legend In My Mind. To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift" - Steve Prefontaine. Friday, October 31, 2008. I was jus thinking that wouldn't it be great if we were all runners at heart. There would be no more wars, no petty arguments about money or fame or status. I now know why I run and why I miss being able to keep up with my running buddys. It's because after a couple of miles, we're all in a deep sweat and our feelings flow. Thanks for letting me share my life with you.

Legend In My Mind: November 2007
http://legend-in-my-own-mind.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Legend In My Mind. To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift" - Steve Prefontaine. Sunday, November 25, 2007. I had much to be grateful and thankful for this Thanksgiving, especially my very life, which I admit I used to take for granted. I will get back to my cardio rehab girls tomorrow (Monday, November 26) and hopefully I can resume a little running on the treadmill this week. My favorite pilates instructor told me I still looked great. Naturally I thanked her and told her I ho...

The blue depth of the sky
The blue depth of the sky. Welcome to the personal pages. This blog, collates and gives range to Caleb's interests and opinions. Friday, 3 October 2014. Loneliness my abstract friend. Never touches absent eyes. Where Cressida fuels ever fires. A flame I have come to tend. Flutters in prison's ashen skies. An emerald dancer never tires. Haunting ballrooms of fancies dark. To unfurl here with a serpents grace. Flashing corset of silken lace. And evade wilt her halcyon hark. Existence to her evermore a fight.
