Calli and Calvin Smith

Calli and Calvin Smith. Friday, August 14, 2015. A few weeks ago Rosie and Alice and Butch and his family paid us a visit. Calvin sees the potential for a new generation of bike riders and to encourage that generation we now have a flotilla of small bikes that grandkids can ride. One day he chalked a race track on our street and we had bike races. Alice liked the bikes, but I think she liked the chalk a little bit better. Austin took racing very seriously. Saturday, August 1, 2015. We saw this tiny churc...

Calli and Calvin Smith: A few more pictures from Greece

http://calliandcalvin.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-few-more-pictures-from-greece.html

Calli and Calvin Smith. Saturday, August 1, 2015. A few more pictures from Greece. We spent most of our time on the water in Greece, but we spent two nights in Spartahori and had a sight seeing day in Ithaca, so here are a few land pictures. Spartahori is a city above the boat harbor. There are a few cars but for the most part the streets are narrow and paved with flagstone. The churches are Greek Orthodox, as you would expect, and look exotic to me. I like Byzantine art but Calvin is not a great fan.

Calli and Calvin Smith: February 2015

http://calliandcalvin.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Calli and Calvin Smith. Thursday, February 5, 2015. Last week we had a fun family reunion in Mexico. The only family members missing were Emily and little girl Smith who are on a "no fly" list for a few more weeks. Our major outing was a trip to the ruins at Coba and then some beach time in Tulum. All five of the grandkids were great troopers dragging around the pyramids at Coba and it was early enough in the trip that we took a lot of pictures there. Alice love to sit on the steps. What a great family!

Calli and Calvin Smith: Two and a half days in Paris

http://calliandcalvin.blogspot.com/2015/07/two-and-half-days-in-paris.html

Calli and Calvin Smith. Friday, July 3, 2015. Two and a half days in Paris. This is the famous footbridge that used to be covered with padlocks. The temporary siding really isn't as pretty as a bridge full of padlocks. After the cruise we took our tour of the Eiffel Tower. We had planned to stay touring the tower until the lights came on, but jet lag caught up with us and we had to go to bed. The view from the top. And a selfie that could be anyplace, but was on the top of the Eiffel Tower. We gave up on...

Calli and Calvin Smith: July 2015

http://calliandcalvin.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Calli and Calvin Smith. Monday, July 20, 2015. Kayaking the Ionian Islands of Greece. We have a lot of kayaking pictures, and these probably don't look a lot different than any others, but here are a few highlights of the trip. We explored a lot of caves which were fun because they were shady and cool. This cave is called Papnicolis cave. We had lunch here along with a Bulgarian kayaking club. It is a very large cave which is supposed to have hidden a submarine during World War 2. And I know you were wai...

Calli and Calvin Smith: An Afternoon in Athens

http://calliandcalvin.blogspot.com/2015/07/an-afternoon-in-athens.html

Calli and Calvin Smith. Friday, July 10, 2015. An Afternoon in Athens. The Parthenon was having some serious renovation done, which is probably a constant process, but it was still an impressive building. So we needed to take our picture in front of it more that once. The ladies of the Erechtheion still look pretty good for being 2,500 years old. And here we are enjoying the views. A quarter of the population of Greece lives in that sprawling city behind us. Jay + Rosie: October 2010

http://jayrosiewright.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Wouldn't you say that that is an ominous fruit platter? Thanks for the tomatoes Mom and Dad. A Tower of Terror(ible calories). I am such a nerd for appetizers. Also served but not pictured: brie with toasted walnuts and craisins, florentine spinach artichoke dip, mini eclairs and ubiquitous party punch. As always, way too much food for the number of people attending. Spindel Man, Spindel Man. Peter and Wu warm up on the bouldering wall. Up, up, and away! Wu scaled that overhang like it was nothing. Experimenting with Photo Sizes. This blog is finally starting look like how I want it to. With you and the Mox, beach time is the best time. Thank you for giving me the much needed sunshine time. Come back soon! We'll even have a room for you to stay in. No bed still, but there will be a door. Embarrassing Encounter with Neighbors #2. Well, technically it was with one of my cubicle neighbors at work, but I'm still counting it. How can you go to Pike's Place Market without taking a picture of produce?

Jay + Rosie: December 2010

http://jayrosiewright.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Well, I hope you can tell that we had a great time. Thank you to everyone who when we were wondering whether or not to go said, "That's a great idea.you should do it.go.go now.go already." The trip was easy and relaxing, and I loved every bit of it. This beach just south of the Tulum ruins was my favorite of the trip. Checking out the town sqaure of Merida, the second oldest Spanish colonial city. Seconds earlier a Dolorian driving at 88 mph disappeared. Playing with the fluorescent filter. Whipped up a ...

Jay + Rosie: Close Up at the Art Institute of Chicago

http://jayrosiewright.blogspot.com/2015/05/close-up-at-art-institute-of-chicago.html

Close Up at the Art Institute of Chicago. Sorry as usual these chicago posts are sequenced backward and i can't figure out an easy fix. Love Love. Love. Love. The Art Institute of Chicago was great with a big variety of art. With my schedule completely up to me, I just ended up spending a lot of time here. There are a lot of iconic and instantly recognizable pieces here. I only took a few photos of things that I felt particularly drawn to or fascinated by. Another edition of the Find the Best Sandals Game.

http://smithcolorado.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Calvin, emily, zachary, and austin. Monday, July 15, 2013. In the morning we packed up camp and headed just down the road to the Moffat Tunnel to do some hiking. We have been meaning to go there for years, and this campground was so close that it worked out perfectly. We got to watch a couple of trains go through the tunnel. The boys waved to the conductor, who kindly blew the whistle and waved back. They were thrilled. Lots of silly faces that day. Austin gives me every dandelion he finds. The boys slep...

Calvin, emily, zachary, and austin. Thursday, May 30, 2013. Just some everyday moments from recently. Zach has been into hunting bugs lately. He and Papa have been taking pictures and posting them on a website called project noah. He is excited about it and always wanting me to take bug pictures. We had such late snow this year. This was in May! At least now we are done with the snow! These moments are slipping by so quickly. Sunday, May 19, 2013. Here are some of my favorites:. Thursday, May 9, 2013.

http://smithcolorado.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Calvin, emily, zachary, and austin. Thursday, November 14, 2013. Pumpkin carving. We had a good time, but neither boy was excited about touching the "pumpkin guts.". Can you guess who carved each pumpkin? The boys really wavered this year when they were trying to choose costumes. Austin was excited to be a "workerman," and once we had that idea he stuck with it. So fitting! Zach finally decided to be a pirate. The costume ended up being really last minute, but it was cute. Thursday, November 7, 2013.

Jay + Rosie: Uncategorized Bits of May

http://jayrosiewright.blogspot.com/2015/06/uncategorized-bits-of-may.html

Uncategorized Bits of May. Another Memorial Day weekend, another I Modonnari Festival. This blog is getting repetitive. With a squirmy girl in our arms this year though, we didn't end up taking very many pictures. And a few shots from Jay's cell phone. I've been pretty lazy about taking pictures lately so I'm always happy when I find a treasure trove of images on his phone. Alice has also been into helmets (or "hat" in Alicespeak) lately. She's taken to wearing her little bike helmet around the house.

Am I really blogging right now? Am envious of the people that have time to regularly blog and document the things that go on in their life.
